Some contacts are not listed in the contacts list and cannot be found by searching on the name. The same contacts can be found when I search on a phone number
Your contacts are stored under different partitions of CONTACTS DB. That's why when you looking for everywhere (i.e. "all other") you see them.

the only way i have found is to fully reset the phone ( back to how a new phone comes) , copy all contacts onto your sim, and any other stuff on your phone you dont want to lose. like photos prob best to plug it into PC and make a copy that way.
just in case i removed the sim from the phone and restarted it in no sim mode.
then dial

replace sim, and there gone
this is a bit of a pain doing it like this but it gets you out of any difficuilt situations if your texting people you should not be !

I had this problem too. Found out that by shutting the phone off then turning it on again allows the 'Recent Contacts' list to build up again.

you need a third party program to do this, look for the application like pim back up, contacts backup and download it from your phone to install, run the program and back up the contacts. but you need to install this program to both phones.
hence if you cannot find one, use your sim card's utility. copy the contacts to your sim, insert it to your blackberry and copy the contacts from your sim to your blackberry.
i am afraid there is still no way you can back up your contact list in your samsung phone to your memory card. even if you use your samsung studio or samsung pc suite, there is no possible way to copy the save phonebook contacts to your blackberry, they have different file extensions. you can save your samsung contacts as npf, csv, or vcard extensions. you can save your contacts to your memory card as csv or vcard, but i just don't know if blackberry has the capability to browse and save the contacts in this file extension from your memory card.
so the only possible way is to back it up using your studio as vcard, and since blackberry can sync to outlook, you can sync your phone book contacts from outlook to your blackberry..

Have now found this, ie when viewing contacts press bottom left hand button, select more, select display options. In my case for some reason only some of my gmail contacts were displayed but I selected "All other contacts" under the gmail id.
