Arcam repair

Maybe a firmware (that's the running program) problem I'd contact Arcam, if your Solo has a USB input they should be able to send you a firmware update which you can download to a USB stick and then upload to the Solo (instructions will be in the manual). If not your local Arcam dealer should be able to do it for you Arcam warranties are 3 to 5 years. Don't now if they'll edit this but also try AV Forums online. good luck

Arcam A65 amplifier keep on go to standymode why?

Depending on the volume level and how many speakers you are driving factor into how the amp will react. Check the speaker wires for shorts, if okay! then we must look at the audio output stage, if the semiconductors are getting to hot, the satety circuits will cause a shutdown, if you run a pair of speakers the amp will run cooler, if you recently added more speakers that would explain the shutdown, if not! there is a problem in the audio output transistors and ic's that will need to be dealt with.

We just purchased an LG, LED, LCD, TV and just realised that our existing Arcam AVR 100 does not have an optical out. Does this mean we need a new amp or are there alternative solutions? Many thanks.

Actually, it doesn't have ANY digital outputs. Just what do you require one for? Name specific models and functions when replying.

Do you think the TV NEEDS optical audio from the receiver? Maybe the TV could survive on just analog audio from the video source, while the GOOD audio goes to the ARCAM since the ARCAM is going to do the hard work of managing and driving the REAL speakers.

How to hook up a computer sub to a hometheater amp

http://www.arcam.co.uk/_ugc/file/avr280e_manual.pdf

If you have the whole Z5500 package you could run the Arcam's optical- or coaxial digital audio output to the corresponding input on the Logitech.

But I'd be careful about letting BOTH the Arcam and the Logictech perform Digital Sound Processing on the sound. DSP's aren't meant to be stacked. My money says the Arcam is better in the DSP department than the Logitech.

If you have just the sub, run the Sub PRE out from the Arcam to the Sub/Center input (adapt it to 3.5 mm) on the Control Center and set the switch to "6 ch direct".

Arcam avr 300 keeps switching off intermitently, and the red standby light flashes.

I wonder if anyone can help explain what the likely problem will be with my Arcam AV300 amp. Whilst watching TV for no particular reason an extremely loud (what i can only describe as feedback) sound comes out of my B & W speakers for approximately 3 seconds, then silence as the Arcam switches off, I’m then unable to switch it back on for a period of time, (this varies between 5minutes to a few hours) when it eventually switches back on everything seems to be working perfectly. This has happened quite a number of times although it’s intermittent & occurring every 1 - 6 weeks.

Arcam alpha 7 amplifier goes back into standby when volume is turned up

Hi,
Can you, or can someone you know, check for DC voltage on the speaker terminals when the amp is on, but not playing? Ideally, the meter should read 0mV with no signal, and certainly less than +/- 10mV. Anything over +/- 30mV is worth having checked out, especially if it changes as you turn the volume knob with no signal applied.

Arcam avr300 intermittent problems

I had this same problem with my Arcam AVR300. I ended up shipping mine to an Arcam repair center and they repaired it and shipped it back for under $200. The problems were cracked connection on the start relay and they replaced power supply diodes. Very well worth it and now I can enjoy it again!
