if the touchscreen cable is broken or damaged, the only fix is to replace the touchscreen assembly with a new unit which includes a longer and more robust amber color cable . I suggest that this repair should only be done by an authorized Viking dealer.
If the touchscreen no longer works, she would need a new digitizer on her unit. Call magellan customer service to get an RMA set up to replace the digitizer.
the Solution is for your to reload you Operating system . there should be some Disc that came with the Laptop when you bought it. so use them so as to fix it. and it will happen again.
i know some people that have had that problem and they fixed it by taking the battery out and putting it back in, when they restarted it it worked fine again after calibration.
I had an issue like that myself. what I did was seperate the casing and remove the battery for about 10 seconds(reset) place the battery back in the unit, snap the case back together and power it back up. That should fix ya
My touchscreen was acting batty, not responding where I was touching. The solution for me was to: 1. remove my screen protector 2. Take a piece of paper, fold it in half, and scoop under the lip the case where it holds the touchscreen in to fish out debris that were distorting how the digitizer recorded.
