Do u have an automatic machine meaning ft is lifted by pressing ft pedal a certain dirtection. otherwise tilt machine and push knee lever. there should be a flat oval piece on top of lever rod. does it rise straight? it needs to contact the push rod on the machine presser ft. see if the line up by lowering the machine slightly. if not bend rod to aglin. your knee lift may need adjustment too and maybe the presser ft screw located by removing the rubber plug on side of machine or take off the plate by removing 3 screws. careful with gasket cause machine will leak if u tear gasket.. presser ft screw is easy to find. lower ft and tighten. make sure that the needle is centered in foot slot when adjusting presser ft screw. otherwise thread will break when needle hits side of presser ft. a very common problem that many do know about and someday i will charge the site. 35 years with juki and still going strong.

How to adjust my Thompson mini walking model PW - 300 pressure foot.

When I think 'higher lift' and leather - I think 'less pressure on the material' Ergo, release pressure on the pressure foot. Usually atop the left side of any machine. Press down on outer ring, to release pressure. Test on extra material. Hope this helps.

The pressure foot will not lower/ seems like the pressure foot lifter is stripped or missing something...when I raise it, it falls back down but the pressure foot remains in the lifted position

Most likely something has become disconnected or misaligned. Perhaps it is time for a routine service call to your local sewing machine shop.

How can i re attach the pressure foot to the lifting lever

If the lever is disconnected, you will have to re-connect it. If it is an older mechanical machine, there may be a adjustment on the top of the machine (tightens the spring) on the needlebar that will loosen the presser foot pressure. Once it is loosened, you may be able to remove the spring and lift the needlebar, but you will most likely have to disassemble some things to get it reconnected. Just keep track of what & where you disconnect things.

Pressure foot won't stay up

The presser foot lift lever on many newer janome sewing machines will wear out with use. It can easily be replaced by a sewing machine repair shop or Janome dealer. Or you can look online for a "presser foot lifter" or "presser foot lift lever" making sure to find the correct one for your machine.

I have the juki TL 98Q and the presser foot will not go up or down. The lever in the back moves but the foot stays up.

It could be as simple as the set screw in the lifting collar has came loose. If you open the end piece and raise the lever in the back up and down you should be able to see if the collar is loose. It will be on the pressure bar and it is the piece the lever pushes on to lift the foot. If just loose you have to put it to where it needs to be on pressure bar to lift it high enough and tighten the set screw.

How do I change the presser foot on an elna mini sewing machine?

I dodn't know your model really well but it will be one of the following:
a clip on foot that you just pull down on to remove,
a clip on foot with a button at the back of the pressure foot holder - press the button to release the foot
a clip on foot with a little lever at the back of the pressure foot holder - lift the lever to release the foot
If it is a clip on foot, then you just need to raise the pressure foot lever, put your fingers onto the pressure foot and press downwards, it should unclip.

To put one on, place the pressure foot onto the needle plate under the pressure foot bar and lower the pressure foot bar down onto the foot, lining up the base of the foot holder with the little bar on the foot, it should click into place.

Hi, the presser foot is stuck in the down position. The presser foot lever has no effect at all. As I have a project underway, I'm having to lift the foot by hand while I get the fabric under the foot but...

You need to get access to the pressure foot bar area. Open the side cover if you can and look to see where the pressure foot lifter lever meets the pressure foot bar lifting block. Maybe the block has sliped upward. You'll need to loosen the screw, slide the block down a bit, tighten the screw, and check to see if this works. (Not knowing what machine you have)
