SOURCE: I am accumulating ice inside my freezer

It needs to be defrosted. If ice builds up quickly again then start shopping for another freezer as the repair is not worth it. I cannot see your repyl due to some tech issue w/ the site, so it may be a day or so before I can reply again. Please leave feedback for me if appropriate. Thanks

SOURCE: 501F freezer has ice accumulating behind the

It can be one of three things. Unplug and use an Ohm Meter to measure the resistance of the defrost heater that is mounted on the evaporator coil in the freezer compartment. Then disconnect the defrost heater and measure with ohm meter. It should measure in the 20 ohm range. If it measures as "open" replace the coil.

Next suspect is the defrost timer mounted in the front of the compressor compartment. It's tough to test, so I'd just replace the timer.

Finally, there is a sensor mounted on the top of the defrost heater that shuts off the defrost heater when it reaches a high temperature. If the coil tests OK, and you are going to replace the timer, you may want to replace the sensor too.
It is awkward to test, the temperature of the sensor needs to be be below room temperature to close. The cost of the sensor is low enough that you may not want to replace the timer, then test the system, and then have to go back in to replace the sensor later.

check and empty the drain pan, you should be able to gain access by removing the vent grill below the door if there is one. The pan is under the unit somewhere. There is also a drain tube, make sure its not blocked with ice.

Frigidaire freezer has ice accumulating and not freezing properly. Ice cream will not freeze.

Try turning the temperature control to off, unplug the electrical power cord from the power outlet, defrost the appliance, clean the condenser, plug the power cord into an electrical outlet, set the temperature control to a low setting, lay a thermometer in the freezer for a few hours and see what happens to the temperature in the machine.
Check the integrity of the seal of the door gasket by seeing how the door seal will hold a slip of paper in various locations along the freezer door gasket. A loose hold on the slip of paper shows an area where hot moist air can get into the freezer and cause ice build up.

Model No IK 458 -4-4T; Product No 925 780 652 02 Ser No 14100010. I get ice build-up on floor of fast freezer comp which jams pull-out basket.

If the defroster coil is not working, then ice will build up on the coils inside the back of the refrigerator.

But, you're saying that it's accumulating on the floor of the freezer jamming the pull out basket.

I would say that the timer or overflow valve is bad on this refrigerator causing ice to build up on the floor of the fast freezer compartment causing the jamming.

Kenmore chest freezer - why is there a 1/2 inch of ice in bottom

Hello. If your freezer is not a self defroster, you must have had a power failure for a few hours that caused a melt with water ending up on the floor of the freezer and then refreezing. IF you have a self-defrost model, your defrost cycle produces some water which should make it's way down to the evaporator tray just above the floor... in your case, the small hole in the floor is plugged and the water is accumulating on the floor rather than making it's way to the evaporator tray. The fix is to clean the evaporator tray, defrost the ice with a blow dryer, locate the hole and clean it out with a couple of pipe cleaners or cotton swabs. Regards, Joe
