The CRUM chip is what tells the copier that the correct toner is installed. It is specific to the toner cartridge. If it is a new cartridge then it should have a new CRUM chip and there should be no problem. If it is a recharge it's possible that the chip was not changed or the wrong one was used.

the best you can do is to replace the toner cartridge itself. It won't work if you just refill it.

SOURCE: U2 fault on Sharp AR-206

Error code U2 in Sharp copier AR 206 shows error or failure of toner crimp you can try to solve by replacing toner crimp

Or by reseting the error code by fallowing procedure

press c intrrupt 0 ( zero ) intrrupt contoneously after pressing all the light on control will go off then press 16 then press start switch

your prob will 100% solve.

My Sharp Copier Model AR-M160 showing f2 error even I replace the new tonner.

Below are the F2 errors and causes for Sharp AR-M160

"F2-31" Image density sensor fault
"F2-32" Drum mark sensor fault
"F2-33" Grid voltage correction problem
"F2-35" Grid voltage correction problem
"F2-37" Drum mark sensor fault

Cause : CRUM chip defect OR Improper developing unit
Check and remedy : As you have already replaced the tonner, we can suggest Replace the CRUM chip,Replace the developing unit

SHARP AR-5316 MAINTENACE RESET

To reset maintenance codes requires going into service mode. This should only be done by an authorized trained technician as changing or adjusting something in this mode could create all sorts of problems you dont want to deal with.
