Balance weight hits case - Hotpoint Aquarius WF220 Front Load Washer

There are usually cement balance weights on the bottom of the drum mechanism. One could have come loose, and/or the drum is hitting the support posts in the case.

Balance wheels,check tire rods.

Check if the counter balance weight is still attached. Sounds like a balance problem.

Check if you have one of the front tires out of balance . That is the most common issue . Did you lose a weight of one of the wheel from when it was balanced when installed . Check to see if you can see a spot where a weight was once located . did you hit a curb lately or pot hole. this alone would dent the rim and you would not know t until you really check if the tires are balance of the tires . Check that and if that does not work we will move on to the next thing to check. there is no sense just say all things it could be you start at the most obvious .

The tolerance for a 1 gram weight on a Mettler PM-6000 F precision balance is 0.1 mg (0.0001 g). This means that the balance is able to accurately measure the weight of an object to within 0.1 mg of its true weight.

Unless there's damage to the machine it is the load. Make sure you aren't washing to small of a load. People do not realize how fast washers spin to extract. Just like they use tiny weights to balance your car tire, it only takes a little bit of weight to unbalance it.

DAMAGED RIM OR WHEEL BEARING.

Sometimes the metal weights fall out of the top rotating bar causing the blades to be out of balance and the bottom blade to hit the tail. Check to see if both the weights are in the top bar.

it would be one of two things.....most commonly, there is a busted belt in one of the tires. Hitting a chuck hole pretty hard will cause this, or a curb.....the other would be that one of the balance weights is gone, causing the tire to be out of balance.....

There may be snow and ice packed in the inside of wheels. I would remove all wheels and clean the insides Or you may choose to have a tire shop do this and balance them. May have also lost some wheel weights.
