Pump basket fills with air overnight due to small air leak. In "filter" mode it starts in the morning, begins to flow water with a moderate pump speed, goes to high RPM and shuts down with an fault error. It has sufficient water in the basket and pump to prime and protect the seals. Restting and restarting in "filter" flows enough water after a 15 seconds or so to prevent a second shutdown. I have set the prime time from 1 to 10 minutes and the prime flow from 30 to 70 gpm but this makes no difference. There are no water leaks in the piping implying the air leak must be small. Once running, the system seems normal pulling 500 Watts to turn the 20kgal pool once a day in 10 hours. Last year it was fine.

The correct way to repair this is to repipe the line. If you can't do that, your local hardware may have an epoxy putty that will hold against water pressure. I would only recommend that if the leak is between two pieces of PVC piping. If the leak is where the pump meets the PVC, I would recommend repiping the discharge.

The pump is probably not getting enough amps. Call an electrician.
