Mouse doesnt work

Windows has trouble recognizing some devices. It gets it and then checks later and doesn't get it and this repeats over and over. Unplug and replug and it works, and then it starts all over again.

I have had to simply abandon using certain mice and keyboards.

Hi.
Before starting, make sure the keyboard and mouse are ON and with batteries.

Whit the PC already ON:
* The first step is to plug in the USB Bluetooth adaptor.
* Once the Bluetooth adaptor is inserted, allow Windows to install the drivers.
* Once Windows gives it the OK, the USB dongle should have a light or even a button. (If you don’t see a button the "yellow" light is the button).
* Press the USB dongle button....this will tell the dongle to start looking for a Keyboard or mouse.
* On the underside of the mouse (and keyboard) should be a a small button.
* Press the button(s) for ~5 seconds, then release.. this tells teh keyboard (or mouse) to look for a dongle.

This should show a connection between the dongle and the keyboard (or mouse).

Or
With the PC Off:
* Just connect the dongle
* Do the button sequence as described above, unit the dongle light goes “solid” again.
* Start the PC and keyboard and mouse should work perfectly.

Cheers,
Ed

My mouse just stopped working. I have a cordless

I would start by pressing the Connect button on the bottom of the mouse, then the Connect button on the bottom of the mouse receiver connected to your computer.

If that doesn't work, try replacing the batteries, then going through the Connect method mentioned above.

Mouse not working at all and need help with the BIOS & how to make my mouse work

Left click start. Left click control panel. In Vista find Hardware and Sound and left click on mouse. You should get a window which allows you to set mouse functions. In XL Left click start. Left click control panel. A window should open listing various computer systems. Left click on mouse. You should get a window which allows you to set mouse functions. If you don't see mouse symbol or word, make sure the mouse software is installed. This should work. You can check on the mouse software by going to Device Manager and checking Input Devices. To do this go to Control Panel as directed above. Left click start. Left click Hardware and Sound. Find Device Manager and left click. Then, find Input Devices.

Keyboard problem

If they both stopped working at the same then it's probably a problem with the motherboard and not the keyboard or mouse per say.

Regardless we've got to try something, right?

I'd start with removing the keyboard and mouse from the device manager, then restart the computer (without the external mouse and keyboard)

If that doesn't work try updating the bios.

If the model you listed above is correct then the latest version for your laptop is located here:

Let me know what happens.

Best of luck!

Microsoft wireless multimedia keyboard 1.0A

I suppose you should reset the keyboard and mouse and maybe the access point itself. Try find small buttons on each devise and press them AT THE TIME. You may need somebody's help. Those buttos can by hidden under mouse and keyboard and should be on the top of the access point. This depend on the model, so please reffer to a manual.
