SOURCE: jl audio 10w6 x zapco350

These subwoofers are dual 4 ohm voicecoils.

Parallel wiring the 2 voicecoils would net a 2 ohm mono load.

Connect both + on the sub to the + on the amp.
Connect both - on the sub to the - on the amp.

Many professionals simply jumper the 2 + and 2- on the sub.... then run 1 set of wires from one of the terminals to the amplifier.

Can i rebuild a jl audio 10w6v2 and how do i do it

check Amazon for replacement speaker foam kits. Just type in your speaker model followed by repair kit and some should pop up. I replaced my infinity foam a few weeks back with no problems.

One sub not working

Try this....the speaker that is not working, gently work the cone up and down with you fingers. Be careful not to go right thru the cone. One hand underneath(near webbing) and one hand on top over the dust cover. If you hear any kind of scratching, or noise, or it's not "breathing" freely, then the voice coil of that speaker may have overheated, or the speaker has extended above and beyond its range of movement (called excursion). And may as well be blown/dead/fried..however you want to say. I hope this is not the case for you.

How to run wires is series fof 3 subs

If they are single voice coil speakers (1 positive and 1 negative terminal on each speaker) then connect from amps' Positive output terminal to spkr. 1 positive terminal, THEN spkr. 1 neg. terminal to spkr. 2 positive terminal, THEN spkr. 2 negative terminal to spkr. 3 positive terminal, THEN spkr. 3 negative terminal to amps' negative output terminal.

That is 3 speakers wired in series. if each spkr is 2ohms, then you will have a total 6 ohm load. If 4 ohm spkrs., then a total 12 ohm load, if 8 ohm spkr., then a total 24 ohm load.

Be careful because amps do not like these odd ohm load totals. You might get away with a 6 ohm total load. Depends on the amp.

Have a Jl 500/1 installed Sat was slappin good puushin 10W6V2 high output box with rockford 1 farad cap. any way blew somethin smelled it amp still green no sound is only thing! sub still works checked on...

Check your stereo first. make sure the speaker outs still work if yes, the check your amp. If you know the signal is getting to the amp and not out to your subs, then your amp is blown. The high voltage transistors inside the amp usally are the ones that go out. Just open it up and if you smelled something, you can probably see it.

I need to find a good sub box for my 10 inch JL w6

Hello ama1228a,

You did not say what type of vehicle the box is to be mounted into. Many times, where the box goes dictates the shape and size you have to work with.

That JL W6 will work OK in a sealed box with as little as .625 CuFt of volume and a ported box with .75 CuFt, so you have lots of choices.

Here's a link to the PartsExpress box page. These are Goldwood boxes, so don't let the prices scare you away. They really are built well, and one of them will make your JL sound good.

http://www.parts-express.com/wizards/searchResults.cfm?FTR=&search_type=main&WebPage_ID=3&searchFilter=goldwood+boxes

Hope this helps.
