Open the front cover. Locate the black button under the LED lights on the left side. Press and hold in the button until all the lights are lit. Release the button. The counter is reset! its toner soup
HP LaserJet 2550L Printer panel indicates 4 LED's for 4 toner cartridges, 1LED for the Drum unit. one LED for the power on button. one of the cartridges or the Drum unit has a problem, it indicates from the lights shows on or flashing. By referring to the indication lights you can diagnose the problem contains in one of the cartridges or the drum unit. By replacing the appropriate item you'll be able to make the printer to the working condition.
Hi, it sounds like you need to change the drum. If you are using the High Yield TN660 toner is your printer, then the drum needs changing every 3-4 toners. If using the low yield TN6300 toner then your drum needs to be replaced every 6-7 toners. Hope this helps
There really isn't enough information given to give a proper solution. This copier has the drum light come on steady or flashing to indicate the waste toner needs to be removed. I don't know if you're a technician or not but lay people have emptied the toner cartridge instead of removing the drum, removing the cap on top of the drum, emptying the waste toner , replacing the cap on the drum, then putting the drum back into the copier. I've never had a copier keep the drum light on after doing this.
Pull the drum out the front door, remove the toner cartridge and check for any paper and remove it.
Make sure there is toner in the toner cartridge. Look at the lights on the printer. Look at the labels beside them. The label "Toner" will have two lines going to two lights. If those two lights are on when you try to print, you are out of toner. But a now toner and install it in the drum. Install the drum back into the printer.
If not, look at the drum. At the rear top is an opening across the whole drum. Look inside it, you will see a metal grid. That grid must be clean or it will cause small sparks. These sparks will cause a false toner empty error. Buy a can of compressed air from Best Buy (or wherever). Use this compressed air to blow clean the grid. Move the small blue tab at one side of the opening ti the other side and back again. Reinstall the drum and try printing again.
If neither of those help, write back and let me know what lights stay on when the printer stops.
On this printer, the alarm and data lights mean that the toner cartridge is empty. When you replace the toner, be sure to slide the corona wire cleaner across and back. This is the small light blue plastic piece on top of the drum cartridge. You'll see a small arrow in the plastic. Just slide it back and forth once or twice each time you replace the toner cartridge.
Alarm and Data lights on together is from low toner. If shaking of the toner cartridge is not helping, change the toner. Drum light is usually on because of the print counter. If the print quality goes really bad, change the drum and reset the counter by holding the front button wile the front cover is open till all lights come on. Release the button and close the cover. If just Data light is on, check the print ques, some jobs might got stuck there.
According to the operation manual: If alarm light and data light blink every 5 seconds- TONER LOW (purchase more toner and have it ready when the 'toner empty' is indicated). If alarm light and data light stay lit- TONER EMPTY (replace toner cartrige with new one).
