When you have them plugged into the computer, do the show you a charging icon or that the battery full?
Regardless of the bahavior, as long as you have let them charge for a little while, try a firmware update on both of them. If they are like the device shown in the picture, you can download the update from here: http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2558
Check to see if the player needs a firmware update or if there is a reset on it. Also try different USB ports on your PC to see if when you plug it in it recognizes the player and maybe needs firmware. If you have more trouble try the RCA website or call customer service. Good luck.

You canthen click on start and the firmware update will complete,,, DO NOTDISCONNECT DURING THIS UPDATE... it may take 2 times to complete thisbut it will work.... YEA!!!! WORKS with 2, 4 or 8 GB Models.....
hey i had the exact same problem....except for mine had nine songs left..lol..they were also all choppy ....heres the fix....download the firmware update from the rca site and after you install it or W/E you decide to do the box the comes up and says searching (you should have your device plugged in) click the bow to format befor you click start and it will reset it to new state.....hope this helps!
