Not running I cant get my Suzuki 6hp 4stroke to run right it wonts to rev really high with the choke out then when u put the choke in and rev the motor past the idle lik it cuts out and I don't know why can anyone help us or should I book in into the shop to get looked at thx

• What you describe is exactly what happens when a 2 stroke engine carburetor is clogged / float stuck. For that type of engine you simply use use a carb rebuilt kit, a simple repair, and all is well. I do not now if your 4 stroke is fuel injected or uses a carb, but if it has a carb and is a 4 stroke, I understand 4 stroke carbs are much more complicated to rebuild. I know this does not directly answer your question, but maybe it will get you thinking in the right direction.

I would check all of your fuel delivery system first. Make sure your gas line at the motor end has pressure and that you haven't hooked up the hose in reverse ( it happens). If fuel squirts out when you push in the little ball with a pointy object, you're good. Next, I would check the screen /filter on the fuel pump and maybe clean up the screen with a little carb cleaner. If it was running good last time you used it, the last thing I would mess with is the carb.
