I need to upgrade this mp3 player.

Is it archos 5 or archos 5 IT ?
For archos 5 IT is already upgrade to 2.2 as far as I know.
For archos 5 I don't think there is one and with archos they don't bother doing anymore upgrades for older models.

Hello,
You are probably a victim of a scam. Its not a good idea to buy mp3 players off ebay or memory sticks. A lot of them are fake or scams. Especially don't buy ones with odd names like diamond etc.. Its safer to stick with brandnames you know such as sony, ipod, etc..

• You are going to upgrade the Firmware of your Mp3 Player in order to perform that follow these Steps:
  

• Installation of the Upgrade Tool:

1. Download the Upgrade Tool application (the download link is in the bottom of this Solution) to your computer.Double click the application.Follow the instructions shown on the screen to complete the installation.Firmware Upgrade:Note: All the existing files in the player will be erased while upgrading,please make a copy of your files before doing this.Turn on MA852-801 player. Press and hold the MENU button todisplay the main menu. Select “Settings” → “System” →“Upgrade” and press the MENU button to confirm. Select “Yes”and then connect the device to a computer via USB interface once you see the following window:

2. Select ”Program files” 􀃆 ”Firmware Update” from the Start
menu or double click the “Firmware Update” icon on the
desktop. You will see the following window shown on the

what exactly do u wanna upgrade?
the memory capacity in it, have more space on the internal memory device
or the software?

YOU CAN EITHER DELEATE IT BY 2 WAYS:
1. GO ON UR MP3 PLAYER AND ON THE SONG, PRESS THE MIDDLE BUTTON AND SCROLL DOWN TO WHERE IT SAYS DELEATE OR U CAN PLUG IT N 2 THA COMPUTER AND RIGHT CLICK THE SONG AND CLICK DELETE

if the recovery disk came with the system yes it will have a copy of everything that came on the PC when you bought it if you upgraded th OS you will have to do a upgrade after you have used the recovery disk.

by using the recovery disk you will return every thing back to the factory so you will lose all your saved data, bookmarks, pic, and doc's.

what i would recommend you to do is to uninstall that device from the system and reinstall it...then format the device inside WMP not from my computer....then go ahead and do the firmware upgrade on the device...then you shouldnt have any problems...you can contact me at [email protected]

I tried to get vista to download the driver, and it said none was available for the Fuxion Genie. Their site only has XP drivers.
