Display screen on Nortel Vista 350 does not work It was working yesterday. It is not the line or the power supply I switched them It may be as simple as the equivalent of a burned out light bulb ?

That sounds like motherboard / software or hardware version incompatibility issues. Replace the whole unit for $60. Keep the old one for parts.

Find a local TV repair shop. Most can change the screen if a replacement is available. They will advise you best.

There is a call back feature in the system. Sometimes when you receive an internal call from another extension and you are on another call the caller will hit callback. You actually have to return the call to that extension to stop the light from flashing.

A button may be stuck on the dial pad. Check all buttons to ensure they are free and none of them are stuck.

Power supplies come with the main chassis. You may need to have the chassis replaced. are you sure it is receiving power ok? You can replace the cards and the flash card into the new chassis and restore programming.

DSL uses one wire pair since it runs off a POTS line (plain old telephone service).

The Nortel modems are very old - they were some of the first DSL systems that came out almost 15 years ago. They were designed to work with their own proprietary Nortel back-end (DSLAM) equipment. Since they use proprietary and now way outdated transmission protocols, they will not work with modern DSL connections since they do not support the standard DSL protocols. Unless there was somekind of firmware upgrade I wasn't aware of, its pretty much junk.

Nortel went bankrupt a couple of years ago. I used to work for them and some of the guys who designed their DSL modems worked a few cubicles away from me. I had a couple of them in the early days (we got free DSL as beta testers back in the mid-90's) - the modems are useless now, but I found the power supply worked well with my cordless drill charger.
