Crosley CR40 playing 33 1/2 too fast? What can I do to slow it just a little bit?

If it is belt driven it could be that the belt is not moving to the smaller diameter pulley for the slower speed. But the unit is new so I would just return it for an exchange at the store it was purchased from. It is new - the heck with a repair - just get another one!

If the voice coil to the speaker is damaged, you have to replace it with an other one.

I don't think it's likely that the motor is in trouble just by having the belt wrong. It would require more physical damage to cause the motor to play up. Having said that the motor could have been in trouble before you touched the belt. But you do need a new belt, all you need to do is measure the diameter of the belt in mm. You might also need to measure the width. To find a new belt put the words "turntable drive belt XXmm" into Google. You can add Crosley to the start, but many belts are universal. Your measurements don't need to be spot on with the diameter, so if you have measured it at say 95mm, a 90mm to 100mm belt will do the job. However fitting the new belt is a different matter. You need to know the correct way, or the speed might be wrong. I can't help you with the fitting of it, so you will need to check how to do it. Some makes have YouTube videos of the fitting. I would just look for Crosley and see if any look like your model.

If fitted correctly and there's a problem with speed still, then you should look more closely at the motor.

You can contact the Crosley website and they should sort out the problem you have, as the machine is under warranty.

If it has a fuse I would replace it then if it still doesn't work that would mean you damaged it with high voltage.

Check all the cables and connections IE to the cartridge. If the problem continues contact the dealer who sold it you.

my Crosley CR6007A-MA turntable's sound is very, very low. You can't even hear it barely. I haven't had it long at all and it wasn't broke due to any sort of abuse. I really have no idea why it would do this for no reason! Help!

it sounds as if the rubber belt is to slack however also worth checking ithe attachment to the spindle itself is not loose 2make sure the belt is the correct type

Turn the tturntable over, there is a speed control pot on the bottom

get a new turntable.
