***ALWAYS DISCONNECT POWER WHEN WORKING
ON MACHINE*** You have to reset fuser errors with simulation 14.
Push P * C * then 14 then Start (the button you use to make copies)
and it should reset the code. If not then replace the fuser. SM
5-1 should turn the lamp on. If lamp blinks on and off it is the
thermistor, if it does not it is the lamp, but check the contacts on
the lamp/fuser -- they have been known to erode.
Also check thermal fuse, if defective
replace.
H2 is a fuser Error. There should be another 2 digit number that is flashing that is the 2nd part of the error code.
Without the 2nd code I cannot look up the code to narrow it down.
Let me know what the other flashing 2 digit code is and I can give you a more specific answer.
Most likely, you will need a service call to get your machine working again since the fuser unit on these machines are really not made for consumers to remove and repair.
But, there is a slight chance that you might be able to get it working again, so let me know what the 2 digits are after the H2.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

You have a thermistor open. That means that the device that reads the temperature in the fusing unit, has broken. You will need to replace the fusing unit to fix this problem. You could try a Sim 14 reset. Push P * C * then 14 then Start (the button you use to make copies) and it should reset the code. If not then replace the fuser.
An H2 is an indicator that the temperature sensing device is reading open, preventing the machine to warm up. There is only one way to correct this and that is to replace the thermistor, and that takes a technician. Not a hard job but a novice could get into trouble and make matters worse.
