Mouse will not work on emachine 700id - E-Machines Computers & Internet

Something internally got wet and malfuctioned.

Plug in a USB mouse and then try to download the Acer driver for your touchpad here: http://support.emachines.com/em/driver/index.html

If you install the newest driver off of the Emachines website, and the touchpad still doesn't work, then it is possible that the touchpad has gone bad.

I would recommend updating the mouse drivers and verify that the sensitivity for the mouse is not set too high

Check out the button on the left of the power button that disable it. If the
light is on the mouse pad is locked.

Try and hold down the 'Fn' button and then press the 'F7' button to enable / disable the touch pad.

You may have failed back light inverter board, or worst, bad lamp.

Buy a new mouse this isnt a problem with the computer, it's the old mouse i sudjest going to walmart or order it at www.amazon.com

you can test the mouse to different computer. if the mouse works without any issue ..then we can start troubleshooting the pc
