REMOVEABLE BASE STAND

I have a tv that does not have the base stand. The horizontal holes measure 25" across and the vert holes are 15.75". This tv weighs 150 lbs. Any ideas on how I can get a stand for this? (I do not want to wall mount.) Thanks,

I think this aftermarket stand will work. The reviews mention a couple of people using this with heavier lcd/plasma screens with no problems. Hope this helps!

I found out via Polaroid's customer service... you need size M6 screws to reattach the base to the TV

You are correct. Polaroid does not make the screws available. You will have to obtain locally, per Polaroid.

Ihave a 31" polaroid tv (measured corner to corner) and need a new base but don't have the product number as thrown packaging away. Where can i find a base?

Please mention what kind of base you are talking about, wall hanger or flat floor base?
Furthermore, as you mentioned you dont know the model number, I would prefer to measure the base screw holes (on your TV) and make / design your own custom made base for your TV.
Or measure the hole-to-hole dimension (on your TV) and go some nearest Shopping mall, you can found a separate base (but before going to purchase make sure its matching your TV as you measured), which you can found easily, and buy one.

REMOVEABLE STAND

Good luck with finding one. Each TV manufacturer has a unique mounting system for the stand. Unless you go directly to Polaroid, you will have a very hard time finding one. Might check Ebay also.

I can't remove the stand off the tv

Hi, i have instruction on removing your base stand.

Removing the Pedestal Stand
1) Carefully lay the front of the unit face down on a flat,
cushioned surface such as a quilt or blanket. Leave the stand
protruding over the edge of the surface.
Note: Extreme care should always be used when removing
the pedestal stand to avoid damage to the LCD panel.
2) Remove the jack pack cover on the back of the TV to expose
the pedestal stand screws. The jack pack cover can be removed
without tools.
3) Remove the four screws shown in the diagram below. This will
allow removal of the pedestal stand.
4) Once you have removed all four screws holding the pedestal
stand in place, remove the pedestal stand from the TV by
sliding the pedestal stand away from the TV.

The TV has a thin horizontal line across the screen. Sometimes the line has color and sometimes the line is white. Everything else seems to be working (i.e. sound, channel changing, game hookups)....

you have a vertical output problem, take something insulated and prod around board and see if pix starts to flutter, then you could have a "cold-solder" joint, otherwise its more than likely a capacitor between the vert driver circuit and the vert output circuitry,

Pvq2510 horizontal line of death

Ok the TV repair shop was correct the problem is with out a schematic you won't know which one it is. Let me explain. Even if you send a picture that actually tells a technician nother but the location of two capacitors. What is needed is a part number c13, c67... you get the point and then these can be looked up in a schematic to determine where they are in the circuit. I would suggest getting a schematic and sending an electronic copy to whomever you want to help you with this problem. I would be glad to help you but as a technician of 25 years I can only say that having and providing a schematic would be of a greater help then a picture. Unless yo plan on taking a picture of the whole circuit board and sending the model number and make of your TV to a technician so that they can look at the picture compare it to a schematic that they have (if they have one) and using that determine which capacitor or capcitors have to be replaced. Thank you,

Fixing horizontal line problem

If hitting the set gets the vert to come back then you have bad solder connections on the vert. outputs.. If it dosent then your gonna need to measure the voltage first on the vert output IC see if its about 24 or so volts If it is replace the IC. If its not the replace the vert B+ drive capacitor off the flyback xformer. If you cant find these things then your gonna need to get a schemtic from sams photo facts and post the vertical section and I will tell you or assist youin this repair. If you have had experience in soldering and curcuit work your already ahead in the repair. post the schematic.

Vertical hold

You dont have enough vertical sweep!! Best thing to check is the vert output device and I think its an IC . BUT before that check the b+ going to that device and see if its low. I will run through a silicon diode right next to the ic. Measure both sides of the diode and if theres a big voltage drop then the diodes bad. Now also these sets are common for the b+ filter cap off thge flyback transformer. Its the voltage line that feeds that diode and the vert output section. Now measure all caps out of cucuit as most will measure good if you dont. Also just for giggles right nrxt to the big IC that has the vert ,horizontal video and sound drive there is if im not mistaking the vert parts start with c4-- or the ic will be ic4-- Its a small cap that will sayc4-- attached to nothing but the ground and one pin of the ic. I've seen this cap cause all sorts of vert problems in the past as its the vert waveshaper capacitor for the vert osc/drive. Good Luck
