Amana DW adb1100aww New install won't start

We bought used but it was like new never used. Installed with plug and it will not start. We have checked the plugs they are working, tried different plugs. We are going to try to hardwire it next, but any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you checked to see if the white and black (or hot) wires are reversed.
It is very common to have this problem.
some plug wires have a smooth edge and a rippled side, one wire per side and the ground wire is green or in the middle.
if there is a side that has a rippled edge make sure that it is on the black wire of the dishwasher and the white to the smooth side.
I remember this in this way: if i hook the power side to an oscilloscope it would show a wave pattern and if I do the same with the common or white wire then it is smooth a straight line

Amana dishwaser adb1100aww won't start is there a fuse in dishwasher

If you are able to set the wash program on the panel but the start does not produce any action, then the door latch is causing a problem. There is a switch behind the latch that detects if door is shut. If this switch is not closing then dishwasher will not start.
Check items 4, 6 and 9 in this diagram. Make sure the mains power is disconnected as high voltages come to the door panel.

I had a Grand Prix one time (basically the same car) that had a problem with the fuel pump harness. This harness plugs into the top of the fuel pump as you know, and into the floorboard underneath the car. Check the floorboard end for corrosion or broken wires.

when they were jumping it with a car battery if could have damaged the stater solenoid. You may have to replace the solenoid or check for loose wires going to the solenoid, all so check and clean the wire plug on the key switch

Trips breaker when plugged in

If it still does, you have a dead short in the electrical system of the dryer. Don't try to use it until you get it fixed. It could start a fire.

Drain is not taling the discharged water away

check your hose by running a coathanger through it and, don't forget to check the vacuum breaker hose also
if you just installed a new garbage disposal did you remove the plug in the outlet of the new GD before you conected the hose to the DW? look into the GD when the DW is draining and look for the discharge stream

Dishwasher pumps water out on floor

It is possible that when installing the dishwasher...if the hose was pulled or jarred or even just from the factory the spring clamp may have come loose....also is there a new Disposal involved...if so there is a plug in the disposal that has to be removed in order to drain. These are the only things I can think of on a NEW DW that could cause water to drain on the floor.....take the toe plate off...turn the DW so that it drains all the while looking under the DW....does it shoot out with force...if so a hose is loose if it is a slow leak a clamp may be loose.

I hope this helps .....good luck....thanks for rating my effort....the Fang.
