because old TV or old blu-ray players have bad apps.(too old)
them top makers flat do not upgrade the smart apps in them
and now fail.
2nd reasons and related is the apps use old protocols that are now banned, ask the top 3 this and they tell you, this.
Netflix,HuLu and VUDU, I actually got warnings from them.
even on my 1 year old Sony and 1 year old Panasonic Blu-ray players, and all 3 , my LG TV when asked directly said no more updates, sorry...l

For most Blu Ray players you need a HDMI connector. The best price for the HDMI should be at Home Depot, which may be a surprise and only buy one that is short most users don't need a six foot HDMI, also don't be fooled by an HDMI product that clams to be better and faster HDMI is HDMI !!

This is a late 2007 model and has an ethernet (internet) connection for firmware updates and interactive content such as BD-Live but its too old for Netflix capability or other internet streaming.

Here is a video instruction on how to hook up the P1600 model to Net Flix.

A firmware update may be required to get NetFlix on the P1500 model.

Otherwise, I have seen little information on the P1500 supporting NetFlix.

Below are the instructions for the BD-P2500 and 2550 I would have to assume it would be the same for your model if it is supported.


1) On your TV, select "Netflix" from the main screen.
(You may be asked to install a firmware update. If so, select "yes")
2) Select "Activate".
3) An activation code will appear on your TV screen.
4) Click the button below to enter the activation code on the Netflix website.
