Dmg problems I have downloaded SanDisk for mac (running V 10.9.2I can not find the DMG file. It is not in the download file. I have tied Spotlight with no results.

Do search for your file. By the word or full title of the file.

If you can't find it, it's not downloaded.

Guide to installing Canon CanoScan LiDE 35, 50 and 60 on Mac OS X 10.8. Mountain Lion:

FIRST PART: DELETING OLD LiDE DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE

• If this is the first attempt to install the scanner, skip this part

• Trash the following files/folders from these folders:

HD:/Library/Image Capture/Twain Data Sources

delete the CanoScan CanoScan XXXX.ds file

(Make note of any other files that may be in this folder. If other files are present, move them to the desktop for now. Then place them back after successfully using the scanner.)

HD:/Library/Preferences

delete the 'CanoScan XXXX' folder

HD:/Users/Shared

delete the folders containing the name CanoScan, or starting with CNQL.

HD:/Applications

delete the CanoScan Toolbox Application

HD:/Users/YOUR-MAC-USERNAME/Library/Preferences

delete any items named "CanoScan Toolbox"

• Restart your computer, then empty the trash

SECOND PART: MAKING YOUR SCANNER WORK

• Make sure your scanner is well connected

• Download the right driver depending on your Model. Also download the Scanner Software. Copy the filenames and search them via Google. Make sure you download the Canon files from an official Canon domain.

CanoScan LiDE 50 and LiDE 35 work both with the 35 driver:

Alternative to VueScan: CanoScan Toolbox. I prefer VueScan.

Try your luck with Version 4 or Version 5.

• Open the downloaded driver file (lide35osx7721en.dmg or lide60osx11131en.dmg)

• and Double-click the ScanGear file, install and restart when prompted

• Open the downloaded VueScan file (vuex3292.dmg) and drag the VueScan application to the Mac Applications folder

• Open the VueScan application. The scanner should be recognized automatically.

(Alternatively try and install CanoScan Toolbox 4 or 5)

I assume you running some version of OS X; you did not specify.
A .exe file is a Windows executable (program). It will not run in the Mac OS unless you have Parallels. (Don't feel bad; the Windows people can't run anything for Mac.)
You should be able to double-click on a dmg file and have it mount as a virtual disk drive. First, go to the Finder Preferences and make sure the External disks are included in the items to be shown on the Desktop. If you don't get a new Finder window when you try to open a .dmg file, check your desktop for the disk image icon (it looks like a picture of a white USB external floppy disk drive without a slot on the front). Open that and you should see the files.

There will be a setup program in the downloaded software or a driver setup program . Once you change the ip address of the printer to match your mac ip range and subnet mask you may find your apple IMAC may detect your printer and set it up automatically
You have to download the mac version of the driver on the
MAC as Apple has a different file system to windows.

A .dmg is a disk image file made for Mac operating systems. If you are operating with Windows, you should download the windows .exe file by going to THIS site and selecting all the pertinent information.

If you are working on a Mac, you might have had some issue when downloading that partially corrupted the file, so you should try re-downloading it and trying again. Once you've downloaded it, it should be as simple as double-clicking on the .dmg icon which will open the installer window, then (depending on how it's set up, I'm not working on a mac right now so I can't check) you'll either need to drag an icon to your applications folder, or open an installer.

The file you downloaded is the Mac version (.dmg). You need to download the .EXE (HTML version) or the .pdf (pdf version) file. To get a replacement CD, you may want to contact Canon at 1-800-828-4040 and tell them how you lost it. They're usually very understanding.
