I assume you're talking too high for removal or adjustment of the leveling feet to be enough to fix the problem. If there is bare underlayment beneath the stove you might consider removing 2" squares where the feet sit. This will probably only drop you 1/4 inch though. Appliance outlet (online) offers several brands of slide in backgaurds and "gap fillers" that may suit your needs... not sure how much you're needing though, so just a shot in the dark.

Can I install a GE Monogram II in a cabinet without using a trim kit if I install a couple of vent grills under cabinet? What could happen if I do this?

As long and you have cross ventilation (not just under the unit) you will be fine. If you only use bottom vents then the unit will be in a hottor than normal environment than designed for.

BUT most people don't use their units to cook with - so if you use yours like I use mine, it shouldn't affect it that much.

Acceptable distance from cook top surface to microwave?

Sorry but your subject line got cut off. I'll assume you're talking about the distance from the cooktop to the top of the microwave (bottom of the cabinet to which it's mounted).

Here's how the installation instructions spec it:
  • "Make sure the bottom edge of the cabinet that will be above the microwave oven is at least 66" from the floor and 30" from the cooking surface."
So it's measured from the cooktop to the top of the microwave, not the bottom edge.

And I always recommend that you use the vent fan whenever you're cooking on the stove top to keep heat, steam, and grease out of the controls and door panels.

You can also download your owner's manual form the link I posted above.

Cant get the back panel off the washing machine

If it is a top loading washer the cabinet itself is actually removed from the back panel and base frame.

1. Remove two trim caps on either side of the control panel, they are just plastic, and clip in place, either remove by hand, or if they don't come right away you can pop them off with a flat blade screwdriver.
2. Remove two screws (now visible with trim removal) that secure the panel to the cabinet.
3. Panel should now be able to pull up and out, flip it back on it's hinges.
4. Disconnect the wire harness from the lid switch connector, this should be the only place (on most models) where wires connect from the control panel to the cabinet top.
5. Remove the two gold clips that secure the cabinet to the rear panel of washer, they snap into the cabinet, and should pop out easily with a flat screwdriver, this can be difficult to figure out which way to go with the screwdriver, the best I can describe it would be to slide the blade of the screwdriver into the front of the clip (about 2 inches below the cabinet top) and then press the screwdriver back over the top of the clip for leverage. It should pop right out.
6. With the clips removed, you should now be able to simply tip the cabinet towards yourself and pull it right off of the frame. The washers "guts" should all be accessible now.
Hope that helps.

Dishwasher tils when door is open because the bracket is roken

There is now a universal dishwasher bracket for just this problem called E-Z DISHWASHER BRACKET. It is available through Braxton-Bragg or ask for it at a local granite fabricator. It is very simple to use.

Installation Advice

The trim kit would be passively vented. I would contact the manufacturer's customer service peoiple for details. You may also need to ask to speak to a technician if the customer service folks can't fully answer your inquiry. See http://www.baumatic.co.uk
