Hi, I have bought a swiss watch hanowa and when i opened the box, i found out it is not working. Do i haave to set something up before it starts or is it a problem with the watch?

battery operated watches have a small plastic tag under the crown
this prevents the battery making contact so it does not go flat in storage
pull that tag out and press the knob home and it will start operating

The winding knob does not lock when I press and turn

That means you need a new stem. Stem problems are fairly common on Quartz Tag Heuer watches. Should not cost you more than $100.

Instruction manual

Tags have a screw down crown (winder knob) turn the knob counter clock-wise until you feel the crown unscrew (not off) then pull the crown carfully. It will pop once this is for date adjust. Then pull once more and you can now adjust the hands, set accordingly then push crown back in. After you push it back in gently compress the crown and tighten clockwise until it stops. CAUTION!!!!!!! Tags are not waterproof if the crown is not screwed back down. I hope this helps .

I have a tag formula 1 with a G10 711 movement. New G10 711 have a different size date ring. How can I (I am a watchmaker) find the correct movement?

remove dial - use engraving tool to remove 3 plastic knobs to remove calendar wheel. replace calendar wheel with old one then heat a small drill to remelt plastic in the 3 holes.

Cannot pull the knob out, to change the date and time on ny TAG Heuer Formula 1 CAC1111-0

Some watches need to have the crown unscrewed.
Try turning it anticlockwise then pull out.

If this doesn't solve your problem, go to the TAG site "tagheuer.com" and find your nearest dealer.

Watch face/knob rubbing a sore in wrist; had it adjusted twice; needs more adjusting? or is it too large for hand?

It depends. Maybe your skin is very sensible. May be the material used is't good for you. But mostly the main reason is: crown (you say knob) is too large for the wearer or have too sharp edges. Visit your nearest watch repair shop and explain what the problem is. Watchmaker will find other crown (different in shape and size, but no lesser quality) and will fit to your watch for your comfort. Rate me, plz.

Can't change time on tag heuer aquaracer 300 meter

Hi please make sure that the knob is pulled all the way out. If it is you need to take it to a watchmaker.

Tag Heuer watch

The knob is a screw-cap seal. When closed (screwed in) it closes the chamber to prevent water from entering the watch.

You will need to unscrew it. It should snap out. In this position, you can wind the watch. Pull the knob out one click, and you can adjust the date. Pull the knob another one more click, and you can adjust the time.

Push the knob back in. In order to seal the watch back up, you will need to push the knob in while turning the knob. You will know you did it correctly when the knob will not turn any further.

Good luck.
