I found a review made on Amazon where someone has figured how to reset it; this means less money spent AND less landfill waste! I have not tried to reset it yet, so I do not know if this actually works, but I plan on trying it in about a week. Here are the steps:

1. Open the unit, and replace the four AA batteries.
2. Connect a wire between the POSITIVE terminal and the labeled RESET copper pad on the printed circuit board. Press the POWER ON button.
3. Move the wire to connect the POSITIVE terminal and the labeled TEST copper pad on the printed circuit board, and press the POWER ON button.
4. The counter will reset from 0 to 30 uses.

The only step that confuses me is 2, when it says connect "A" wire, do they mean connect THE wire? I'll have my dad try to reset it haha

  2. Press the "Next" button on the side of the watch to scroll through the settings menu until you reach "Reset."
  3. Press the "Mode" button to select "Reset." The display will show "Yes" and "No."

How can I change my "Username and Password"?

If you have forgotten your username and password, depending upon the BRAND and MODEL of your router, there should be a reset button. Use of this reset button will return your router to FACTORY DEFAULTS, eliminating ALL SETTINGS you have made to it, and allowing you to set a new USERNAME and PASSWORD.
Use of this reset button is referred to as a "30-30-30" reset. This means that you power the unit up, hold the reset button for 30 seconds, release the button, unplug the router, hold the reset button for 30 seconds again, keep holding the button while you plug the power back in, hold the button for 30 seconds after plugging the router back in, then release the button. When the router self-restarts, again unplug the router, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in. The router should then be back to factory defaults, and you may start fresh with it.

How to reset admin user password or get it from config file shown in it as hash

I have encountered other stubborn IP devices which resist reset.
Most of them will reset if one uses the 30 30 30 method.
Try it, press the reset button in for the following.
30 seconds with the power on, still pressing it in remove power and count another 30 seconds, now re-power it on still with it press for the last 30 seconds.
I have found that this time can be shortened for some devices but the cycle still is reruired. Good luck...

Reset button location

To perform a hard router reset, keep the router powered on. Then, find the unit's reset button, often located on the rear of the device. Use a pen tip or bent paperclip if necessary to depress the button and hold it down. Network administrators are taught to hold the button down for 30 seconds; your router probably does not require waiting that full length of time, but this is a good general rule to follow. After releasing the hard reset button, a router may need up to 1 minute to reboot and resume normal operation.
An alternative method for hard resets involves holding the reset button down for 90 seconds instead of 30, unplugging the router from power and then re-plugging it partway through as described in these instructions for the 30-30-30 hard reset rule. This more involved reset process may not work on some routers and should only be tried if the basic 30 second version does not work.
To avoid Internet connectivity complications, disconnect the broadband modem from the router before performing hard resets.

Service repair manual

There is sort of a universal reset for routers known as 30/30/30.

The trick to this fix is to KEEP HOLDING the reset button in the ENTIRE TIME. Do not release button until ALL steps are done.

Make sure the router is plugged in and ON. Press and hold the reset button in for 30 seconds. UNPLUG from wall (keep holding button in) and wait ANOTHER 30 seconds of hold time. PLUG BACK IN and continue to hold button in ANOTHER 30 seconds. Then release.

The link below is to an article I found on Google, you probably don't need it too, but is included for further clarity.

Hi, I have this ZyXEL P-320 v2 router from a friend. I am trying to set a password on it but it wont recognize the username/password i am using, ive tried everything, admin/1234, (none)/1234, admin/admin,...

It looks like the device was reset from the defaults which you tried already. Did you do the "30-30-30" reset?

Try the 30-30-30 reset as follows:
  1. When router is powered on, press the reset button and hold for 30 seconds. (Use a paper clip or something sharp)
  2. While holding the reset button pressed, unplug the power of the router and hold the reset button for 30 seconds
  3. While still holding the reset button down, turn on the power to the unit again and hold for another 30 seconds.
This process usually works for resetting any router to it's factory setting.

If the device doesn't reset following this, then you're looking at hacking the device physically.

If you using modem+router, the device reseting the connection each 30 minutes or if you using internet through LAN, may be your network admin using the Firewall soft which reseting connection every 30 minutes, or your ISP reseting the connection each 30 minutes automatically for IP changing purpose...Not a problem....you can be anxious....Good luck

How do i reset the Netgear EN106tp to factory setting?

Hubs don't have any settings to reset. If it's a router, try the "30-30-30 reset." Get a pen, and hold down the reset button 30 seconds while the router is still plugged in. While still holding down the reset button, unplug the power, hold down another 30 seconds, then plug it back in, and hold down the reset another 30 seconds. The reset button is a small black button that you'll need a pen to push.

Motorola SB4200 Modem IP not working

You can always do the 30-30-30 reset as follows:
This should allow for a full reset of the modem. Once that's done, connect your computer to it with an Ethernet cable to access it's WebUI using the Default Gateway (192.168.100.1), or connect to the WIFI using the default SSID and Password that are usually written on the modem itself.

I hope this works!
