Electrolux washing machine wont spin all the way

Wont do full speed spin at end of cycle. will spin full speed under diagnostic mode and throws no errors. Motor and tach resistance check ok. Did many clean cycles, soap not the issue. Tub drains fine. door locks fine.

Noticed cloths were very wet when washer signaled load was done. Tried to run just the spin cycle. the drum would run CW, stop, then run CCW, then stop, etc.... this would continue back and forth but would never progress to a full speed spin cycle. I checked all the usual stuff.... drain was fine, door was locked, soap was not a problem. Pulled the back off the washer and checked the belt, bearings and resistance of the motor and tach, all were fine. Found the tech data sheet under the lid and ran the diag test. the drain spin test would get the drum to spin full speed but gave the motor controller error code. I pulled the motor controller board and found dead bug goo all over the circuit card, possibly shorting out some of the ICs. I used proper static protection, removed the board from the plastic case, cleaned the board using ESD best practices and re-installed everything. Now the unit still wont run spin cycle to full speed but I don't get any error codes. I can even leave the wet load in the tub, go to the diag test and manually run the drain spin test to dry the cloths.

    Any progress?

Seems like the full speed spin cycle works some times and not others, may be load size dependent now. Like larger loads will not spin up full speed, they just get to the spin cycle and the drum just does the slow CW then CCW then CW spin but never fully spins up. Unit will run spin cycle empty and with smaller loads and I still have not seen the first error code after I cleaned the gunk off the motor controller board. I am thinking I will just purchase a replacement motor controller board and hope for the best.

I bit the bullet and purchased a new motor controller board, swapped it out and everything seems to be working fine now. Must have been some IC level failure in the MC that was not sensing rpm's, current, load, etc... correctly and would keep the drum from fully spinning up.

Not a solution, but I wonder if it thinks you've either selected no spin or it thinks the machine isn't drained and so won't spin or it thinks the load is unbalanced. You seem to have done everything logical so far.
Also look at all all connectors
Logic seems to dictate that if the motor/motor drive functionality and other diagnostics don't show any problems (although I must admit if it were possible I'd like to try another motor control board just to convince me it wasn't implicated) then it must be a logic/ sensor problem and maybe diagnostic mode doesn't check all sensors in the same way as would happen in normal use? Sorry I can't be of more help. (The motor brushes are probably ok but I'd check them anyway while you are in there) Do let us know if you find anything.

SOURCE: check hose error on electrolux wave touch washing machine

I'm sure nojallo1 has already fixed his but I just ran into the same problem and didn't find anything in my searches for a solution. The problem I had was the test cycle wasn't long enough to get hot water through my water lines so it could verify the hot and cold hoses were in the proper places. Solution: Turn the hot water on in all the sinks in your house until they have hot water running through them. This will prime your hot water line so it is full of hot water instead of cold water. Then run the install cycle again and it should be fine.

SOURCE: Hi, I have an Electrolux

Im taking it that you have a squirrel cage motor.(motor without bruhes) Locate the capacitor and replace it. Most of the time its the capacitor that has malfunctioned and that will stop the spin cycle. If you have a soft start.(an electronic control), then check the brushes. Possibly need someone to help as the motor will need to be removed to gain access to the brushes. Check length. must be at least 25 mm.(otherwise not enough tension). Make sure power is pulled out when doing this repair.

Why wont my ewf 1080 electrolux spin

Most likely the washing machine is stuck in Hold mode. Check if you have the spin speed knob at the correct setting.

Washer won't drain

DIAGNOSTIC MODE
To enter diagnostic mode follow the steps below.
1. Turn the power on at the power point but off at the machine.
2. Press and hold WASH TEMPERATURE SETTING DOWN and then press POWER until the
machine gives 2 short beeps and lights up.
3. Release the buttons after the beeps as the beeps indicate diagnostic mode has been entered.
4.1 Last Fault Data
When in diagnostic mode the last fault can be found by pressing the SPIN SPEED UP or DOWN
buttons until the HOLD and SLOW lights are illuminated. Binary can then be read from the wash
progress lights.
4.2 Drain Pump Test
MW Washer
When in diagnostic mode press SMART TOUCH CYCLES to activate the drain pump. To
deactivate the pump, press SMART TOUCH CYCLES again.
GW Washer
When in diagnostic mode press REGULAR to activate the drain pump. To deactivate the pump,
press REGULAR again.

4.3 Water Valve Test
The water valves can be activated in diagnostic mode by pushing WASH TEMPERATURE SETTING UP to activate the Hot Valve and WASH TEMPERATURE SETTING DOWN to activate
the Cold valve as with previous models.
Pressing each button once will activate the valve. To de-activate valve press the same button
again. This is also good to use when installing machines as it takes the shock out of the fittings
and seals and allows checking for leaks on the inlet hoses, both machine end and tap or super-tub
end.
Caution: Do not leave the machine unattended when either or both valves are operating

Model fwt645rhso will agitate but won't drain out, on spin cycle washer spins one way, stops goes back the other way, but water will not drain out. Does not rapidly spin on final cycle. Any...

There's an auxiliary switch in the door lock.switch assembly that is activated at the end of the wash cycle for the machine to advance to the spin cycle. The machine will NEVER advance to the spin cycle unless the auxiliary switch is activated as a safety feature to prevent the door from opening during a high-speed spin cycle that may result in physical injury. The drum tumbles back and forth while the machine control checks the auxiliary if activated but since it's not, the control will not command the motor speed control to spin the drum at high speed. These symptoms may indicate a faulty door lock/switch assembly and may need replacement. Click on the links below for the detailed troubleshooting instructions and replacement of the door lock/switch assembly.

Quick Service Cycle
While in service mode, pressing the delicates key
will start a quick service cycle. This will be a quick
check of all systems.
The following steps will be followed.
1. Energize the cold and bleach water valves. Fill to
Low level, then turn bleach and cold off.
2. Energize the hot and fabric softener water valves. Fill
to high level, then turn all valves off.
3. Lock the door.
4. Tumble using 7/3 tumble pattern for 12 sec.
5. Turn the drain on.
6. Spin to 800 RPM using default rates.
7. End spin and coast down.
8. Unlock the door when the RPM is zero.
9. Display a ‘PA’ (Passed) on continuously for 10 seconds
if no diagnostic codes were logged during this
test.
The up arrow if pressed will advance to the next step.
The right most dot will be turned on as an indication
of failure and stay on until quick service cycle test
has reached the end. Any diagnostic code logged
during this test will result in failure of the test, but will
not necessarily stop the test. While in quick service
cycle, the pressing of the hand wash will suspend
the machine at this step for 30 minutes until the
Hand Wash key is pressed again. All LED’s will
flash on and off while the cycle is suspended, or on
hold.
Motor Drive System
To check the system, check the board for proper
output to the motor control. Performing a board
output test does this. Then perform the Motor
Control Board Output Test.
Motor Control Board Output Test
1. Disconnect power to the washer.
2. Remove the front panel and pull the JP4 Connector
from the motor control board.
The following Quick Spin test steps are as follows:
1) Lock the door.
2) Spin to 350 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
3) Spin to 550 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
4) Spin to 600 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
5) Spin to 650 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
6) Spin to 800 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
If the Spin key is pressed again during the Quick Spin
test, the current speed will be held indefinitely. Pressing
the Spin key again will allow the quick test to
proceed as listed above.
When the washer is in the Service Mode, the speed
will be displayed as a two digit number or a letter/
number.
Quick Spin Test
While in service mode, the pressing of spin key shall
start the washer in the quick spin mode.
3. Reconnect the washer power cord to supply
voltage. Make sure the door is closed.
4. Press delicates and heavy soil keys for 3 seconds
to activate Service Mode.
