1. Press and hold down the ASSIGN A button (the light should be blinking) then (simultaneously) press the REC button above channel number 1. The light should blink when you do this.
2. Release the ASSIGN A and the REC button
3. Press the REC button above channel 1 (the light should be blinking by itself)
4. You should see the meters moving with in the display above Input A and Track 1 when you speak into the microphone.
5. Press the REWIND button twice until the display reads ABS 00.00.00.00
6. Press and hold the RECORD button and press the PLAY button. The REC light above channel one, the PLAY light and the RECORD light should become solid.
7. After recording press the STOP button.
8. Press the REWIND button twice until the display reads ABS 00.00.00.00

Just bought the mackie 1604 vlz3 mixer and cant figure out how to get sound to the main speakers, the speakers and amps are connected correctly

Simplest is to use the LR button at the bottom of the channel strips you want to send to the main mix. Make sure you set the gain for each channel in use so that the clip light just occasionally blinked then back off a fraction.
If you want to use sub channels assign the strip to the appropriate one 1/2 or 3/4 and the assign the sub to the main mix and bring the subs up.

When I record & play it back my recording take is off beat

you have too much latency in your setup. Try using ASIO as your audio engine in your recording program. Also, shut down all unnecessary programs running on your computer to get better performance.

My recording function automatically turns on? I do even have to press any keys and it will just start recording. Its very fustrating because while I am playing it will often turn on and interrupt my...

Look for the button that starts the recording and see if it might be sticking down part way. If it is,then wet a Q tip with CRC226 and wipe the sides of that button. CRC226 is plastic safe and is available in the electrical dept of Home Depot.

I have Lexicon alpha, Condenser Mic, phantom power .If i record, the voice goes only to right speaker. I am using cubase le 4, stereo in/out are correctly.

Sorry, but the Lexicon Alpha does NOT have Phantom power and you can't use a condenser mic with it without a Phantom power injector or preamp.
If you mean you have a Phantom power injector then it should be working. Do you have seperate mics for the two channels of the stereo? If you have only one mic, then only one side will record unless you set for mono recording and then dump the recording into stereo voa Cubase. I would recommend you get a small mixer... even a 4 channel one to use ahead of the Lexicon so you can mix and PAN your mics the way you want them. The recording and trying to control the panning in Cubase can be frustrating... The Lexicon really doesn't have anything built in to PAN the mic to the center when stereo recording. Small mixers are inexpensive and often you can find them used or in pawn shops for cheap.

I have just got a Behringer uca202 usb interface, have wired it all up correctly and yet some how there is HUGE static noise when recording and playing back in my monitors/headphones, the monitors are not...

Two things... Make sure echo function is off and ALSO that ALL equipment is powered from the same receptacle to insure no ground loops.

One other thing is to make sure all anti-virus and other background programs are idled while recording. Even things like wireless LAN running can interrupt the smooth flow of data from the device.

Hi, I bought a Lexicon Alpha in order to use with Apple Mac (Logic). Now, my microphone is a dynamic microphone so it does not need any phantom power. When I connect the usb cable, the blue light comes...

I suspect the problem is with the software setup in your PC. Verify all the options and also verify that the AUDIO system is assigned as stereo and assigned to the Lexicon for both in and out... Also check any "PAN" control settings. There is a possibilty that the Alpha has a dead channel...

Try putting a stereo signal into the 1/4 inch jacks and see if both record... if NOT then take it for repair under warranty... I had a Lexicon Omega that had a problem myself... warranty repair...

I can't seem to figure out how to record one track over another without a delay problem? I am using the behringer 1202 mixer into my computer. No problem recording but can't do multiple tracks. I'm new...

This is a common problem with digital recording. Simply put, it takes some time to convert analog (audio) to digital and then more time to convert it back. So, your playback track goes through conversion and introduces some delay. You don't hear this because you have no zero reference. Your recorded sound goes through the A/D converter and also incurs some delay. When you play them back together, you hear the difference in time from one track to another. Most pro recording programs have some method to minimize or cancel the delay like slipping the tracks so they all start together. Pro Tools just introduced a version that automatically does this. They have always had what it called "low latency" monitoring which attempts to keep the "shortest" digital/analog path so overdubs are close enough that we don't hear any issues. So, since you talk about the mixer but not the recording program, I can't tell you specifics but I'd look into the recording program for time alignment settings and options. If you have a manual for the recording program, try to look up latency.

I don't no how to record in split layer. And do I twerk this keyboard

I don't know what you are using to record with but if you are recording audio try sending half of the split right and the other half left or use two separate channels to record each half. Mix as needed. If you are recording midi using a DAW assign each half of the split to a separate midi channel and assign the receives to separate channels in your DAW. If you are recording onboard your manual should have the solution and you might just have missed it so far.
