Our power went off today and when I powered the EKI607 ceramic induction hob on again the two left hand plates (front left and rear left induction cooking zones) are not working and are showing an error E 6. We live on an island and are not near an electrical supplier so would appreciate information for an authorised service agent in southern Tasmania.

Hi, Switching off the childproof lock 1. Press the ON key. 2. Then immediately press the Plus key of the cooking zone at the left-back and the Minus key of the cooking zone at the right-back simultaneously. 3. Then press the Minus key in order to deactivate the childproof lock. The "L" will go off. If this doesn't work or you have a different model, please post back and I will let you know the correct deactivation method for your model. Hope this helps. Regards, BElectric
You've probably accidentally activated the child-lock "L". It would help to know which model you have as the deactivation method can vary on different models. However, this is the process for activation or deactivation on the EKI-848 which looks like the one in the above picture:
