Hai, Please check the thread tension and change the new thread and new needle. Otherwise put the some drops oil in the top and bobbin thread. Or go to mechanic shop.

I wanted to turn my daughters old jeans into shorts since they still fit, but were too short. I was having the same problem, but I was able to make some progress. I switched the thread from a poly/cotton blend to 100% polyester and it was a big improvement. I still was unable to stitch through seams. I am going to try a more heavy duty polyester thread and an upholstery needle (18/110).

SOURCE: Singer Sewing Machine model 9224. Bobbin thread

If you turn the handwheel, can you see a metal ring rotating around the outer edge of the bobbin case? If not rotating, broken gear or timing belt off.
If that ring is turning, remove the needle plate and bobbin case. As this ring now rotates, you will a finger on the ring that will pass behind the needle from right to left and it should catch the thread from the eye of the needle. If this finger, the "hook" passes above the eye, you have a timing problem.

Let me know.

Why is the top thread on my Singer 1 constantly breaking after about 10 inches of stitching

When I've experienced this problem, I've found frequently it's because the top thread is wrapped around something (the spool pin, a thread guide, etc.) so there is something that will not allow the thread to feed smoothly. The thread stitches and stretches until it can no longer stretch and then breaks. I would remove the top thread completely from the machine and rethread from the beginning. Be sure to ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the top thread. Check if the machine is threaded correctly. Also check that the tension is not too tight.

I have been trying to thread the bobbin but my machine won't go all the way when I turn it toward me.pls help singer 8280

You could have a thread jam in the machine, try cleaning and lubricating and if that don't do it Call Singer at 1-800-4singer and see if it is covered under warranty.

Thread mess at the underside of the fabric

Hi, maybe your bobbin is turning the wrong way and you need to flip it over. Or you don't have any top tension. Be sure the thread is in between the tension disks with the foot up. Its also possible that there is a burr on the hook part that goes around and grabs the top thread. The thread will catch on the burr and cause this issue. Usually after breaking a needle. Then the burr would need to be polished off.

Singer 8280 lower thread tension not consistent and not even

clean the lint out with canned air (best thing going) then I hope the tension is still back to where it was.never change this with out going back to the first setting and keeping it noted so you know where the problem is not. try changing the needle it may be bent

Singer 8280 is not giving me a useable stitch due to tension is not properly feeding resulting , no interlocking

Make sure that the thread is not getting caught on the handle. I was having the same problem and tried everything only to find that my thread was caught.

I have model 8280 and the bobbin thread keeps bunching up on the bottom. I have tried to rethread it but it keeps happening.

i think your putting in your bobin backwards,
to check put your bobin in and hold bobin , and bobin case by thread if it unrolls its backwards,
hope this helps!!
