My printer is saying paused and will not print

Hi
If you open Devices and Printers, right click on the menu that comes up and click on "See what's printing", a dialogue box should come up with a list of documents to be printed. In the second column is the status of each document. The first one in the queue will probably say "paused". Highlight this, click on the document menu and remove the tick against "pause" and the printing should restart.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

My printer status says it is on pause and it won't print. How do I get it off of pause?

I'm assuming that you're using a Mac. Try to uninstall the Lexmark driver first then download an updated driver online: http://bit.ly/McHL54

If it doesn't work, try to reset the printing system:

  1. Open System Preferences and click "Print & Fax". Then click or right-click on the blank space around the list of printers on the left-hand side.

You should see a pop-up menu and the option to "Reset printing system...". Once you select the option, the OS will restore the CUPS printing system back to its original default settings. NOTE: This will, of course, erase all of your print queues.

Then add a print queue manually: http://bit.ly/SxD5Za
