In the first row of numbers, assume row 3 for example (leaving 2 rows for titles, put in cell E3: =C3+D3. In the next row (assuming row 4, put in cell E4: =C4+D4+E3. Use fill down to populate this formula all the way down.

Just noticed that kd24911 was writing an answer the same time as I was. My solution assumed that the money out of petty cash (column D) was entered as a negative number. If it is entered as a positive number as kd assumed (actually, more likely) the formulae will need a minus sign on column D cells as he indicates.

Hi,

for Column E, if current cell is E(x) and previous cell is E(x-1) then,
formula will be:
=E(x-1) + C(x) - D(x)

logic: C is added to last balance, D is substracted the same way

Hope this helps.

My volvo S40 turbo needs the rad fluid topped every two days, right now is a heat wave and when i opened the cap on the left side it was full and thick as mud. What do I do, PLEASE.

Thick as "MUD" is really only accomplished by mixing ENGINE oil (my opinion)... With COOLANT ..
Total WASTE..!!

Have a SERIOUS mechanic look at it... Buying
FRESH antifreeze could be a waste of petty cash...

if your OIL and coolant are swapping spaces...
SPENDING $$$$ on anti-freeze is wasting money
you are going to need for SERIOUS engine repairs...

Including ANTI-FREEZE...

save your $$$$$.... You are going to need it.

YOUR first PRIORITY:
Cold PRESSURE test your cooling system... Find your ISSUE(s) … & repair.

POOR BLEEDING can cause everything you are SUFFERING. FACTORY WORKSHOP repair manuals are worth every PENNY.

Sam4s er-5200m: On a full Z tape, what is the difference between "cash sales" and "cash in-d (in drawer)"?

Cash sales are what you sold for cash, cash in drawer is what you have in cash sales as well as any cash you put in drawer at the start of the day and recordered as cash in drawer. The amount in the drawer (Cash in Drawer) should equal to total cash sales, sales with checks, paid outs (PO's) removed and all transactions performed for a day or period of time. Cash - Checks, PO, petty cash removed all shuld equal total cash in drawer.....Hope this helps

Hi,
there are many tools to use:
a) simple excel where you define columns like:
date / item ID / item Description / cost / comments
Then you can sum-up the cost columns and dates.
b) Online tools like these
c) various Mobile phone tools (search in google based on your mobile operating system)

Pls rate my solution.

Transforming birthdates into year codes

Here is a solution that might work for you. Please be mindful that there are several different solutions that will achieve the same thing in Excel (I am assuming Excel is your software).

1) Make sure each column in your spreadsheet has a heading.

2) Highlight (select) the column of birthdays.

3) Choose Format from the menu bar.

4) Choose Cells... from the drop-down menu.

5) For the "category", choose Custom.

6) In the "type" box, type yyyy

7) Click OK and when you return to your spreadsheet, you will see only the years displayed. However, when you try to edit a cell, you will see that the entire birth date is stored and preserved.

8) Now, highlight the entire table

9) Then, choose Data from the menu bar

10) Choose Subtotals... from the drop-down menu

11) In the "At each change in" box, choose the name of the column with the birth dates

12) In the "Use function" box, choose Count

13) Leave all other choices at their defaults

14) Click OK, and you are done.

Using this method, you can continue to enter the data as you always have. In that way, the birth date info is never actually destroyed or converted. What you are doing is simply deciding what is displayed.

I hope this helps.

I NEED TO START A SPREADSHEET FROM SCRATH I AM A BEGINNER AT COMP

I am assuming that you want your date column to run daily - not updating itself with todays date over previous data....

In which case your column will run a daily date, You can achieve this by typing a date in the format you choose = 01/05/09, 1 May 09, etc hit return. scroll on the bottom corner of the cell you have typed the date in until it changes from a large white cross to a smaller cross and drag this down the column.

For the totals that need to subtotal autmoatically you will need to select a range - so is this total a weekly/ monthly total - How large is your range.

Once you have decided on the above - for example the in Column A the date ranges from 1st May - 31st May for a calendar month, the subtotal will need to include 31 cells - so in the Column B which is the subtotal = SUM(B2:B32)

You can copy and paste the sum into adjoining cells if you are seperating income from expenses etc.

Hope this helps.
