I have a Black and Decker Grass Hog trimmer and I can't get it

Have you tried re assembley? take it apart and completely redo the whole line reel. i f this does not work. Contact Black and Decker online.

Ensure you are winding the line in the correct direction

with fine file , refurbish male threads.
determine the female threads with magnifying glass to determine damage to female threads. female threads can be repaired with a die from OSH or H/D. ask for help to find the right thread pattern or take them both to the hardware store to get the right die

For the cordless Grass Hog, the replacement spool is AF-100. You can purchase these spool heads online or maybe find them at your local hardware store, but they may be hard to find because the Grass Hog is not made any more.

Same problem. Can you tell me how to remove the head? My line is tangled hopelessly around it.

You will more than likely have to purchase a new guard.

The string is wound the wrong direction; it should be wound clockwise on the spool.
