Replaced lamp and ballast. If the color wheel is bad will this keep the lamp from Lighting?

the color wheel wil need to be replaced soon if it is doing that. it could be then DMD board as will.

It could be the lamp but don't overlook the lamp door interlock switch. If the lamp door is not aligned properly, you may have intermittent shutdown or no start conditions. You can temporarily cross the interlock switch to confirm that this is the cause.

The transformer can't damage the new lamp. Faulty transformers normaly take out the driving transistors or the fusible link in the power supply, if these are good then just replace the lamp. Espacially if you know the lamp is bad (test it by swapping with the others if unsure)

Was the replacement lamp the same part number as the original as there are different arc gaps for different lamps and the wrong arc gap will cause the lamp not to light. Since the ballast is powering up the lamp should light if the baalast is matched to the correct arc gap of the lamp being used.
