SOURCE: VCR eating tapes when attempting to rewind

VCRs are so cheaply priced these days that it's not worth the time and trouble to fix them or have them repaired. If you fix one worn or slipping belt, another problem isn't far behind.

SOURCE: VHS tape plays for a few seconds and automatically ejects

My guess would be dirt on the rollers inside the VCR. They sesnse a jam and ejct. Try a VCR cleaner (with cleaning fluid) and see if that helps.

I have an old emerson TV/VCR (Digital Tracking VHSHQ) The TV works fine, but when I put a tape in it is ejected and part of the tape stays inside, but can be pulled out.

Try a VHS Cleaning Tape Cassette. Follow it's instructions. If no better result it's not worth throwing away money on having repairs done but better put toward, if you can afford to, buying:
Option 1. A VHS/DVD player (combo as these are known) and plug that into the Emerson AV input.
Option Two: A VHS/DVD twin recorder combo deck - and plug that in.
Then start on copying any VHS tapes you cherish to DVD on this device.
Option Three: Forget the Emerson except for just using as a TV and buy a new TV with DVD player built in - the latest type of combo.
(I'm having to guess whether you've just used tapes to watch or record and watch)

I cannot record using a DVD/VHS player.

You can record. From antenna to converter box, from converter box to vcr. From vcr to TV.
TV on Channnel 3 VCR on channel 3, and set channel on converter box. Then Record.

Time recording works the same way, but you can set for only one channel at a time. Tht is the only restriction that I have not overcome. The converter box sets the channel. Gee Whizz

Tv/digital converter box & vcr-dvd hook-up

I have a vhs and dvd player all in one
I have a converter box hooked up to my tv and vcr , dvd player combined
I can play my movies on the tv. ok.
you have to have your tv and vcr set on channel 3. if that is what your main tv is set up with. Or 4 if you have your tv set up with that.
Mine plays ok. My settings are for channel 3
My suggestion would be to check your hook ups. maybe they are not hooked up correctly
I had to go to www.google.com and did searches to help with hook up.
I can also record station I am watching with vcr on vsh tapes. I do not have a dvd recorder.
I found out that you have to have 2 converter boxes hooked to one tv., in order to record on on station while watching another. I have not tried that, as I don't have 2 converter boxes for one tv. I found that by doing google search also. Good Luck

VCR, DVD, TV Connection

first let me say that a dvd player and a dvd recorder are different. the dvd player can only play dvd while a dvd recorder can both play and record dvd that is said. what i understand from what you write is currently is - out of your tv box into your dvd player then out of your player into your tv........ ok some dvd has two connections. line one and line two if your tv box is in line one then you should plug the rca cable in line two in. then you select line two on the dvd player then plug the other end to your vcr in line out so that is out of your vcr into line two of your dvd player.(some times one of the connection is at the front of your player hidden) if your dvd player only have one connection then you would have to plug out your tv box and replace it with the vcr cable and when you finish coping your vhs tape you plug in back your tv box to your dvd player. hope i could help.......... Dvd into vhs input

If you can watch TV normally then it should be a button on your VCR remote. It could be "Input", "Line" or "Aux". Tvs with more than one input line will may require 2 presses on that button, one for each line. This is the best answer that I can give not seeing your remote. Any questions?

How to record from KS 4110 DVD payer to VCR

Connect your DVD player to your VCR ( the out put from the dvd player is connected to the input of the vcr) then connect your vcr to the tv( the output from the vcr is connected to the tv)

Set your tv to what ever channel you connected your vcr to and hit the tv/vcr button on your vcr remote until you get the vcr displayed on the tv.(ensure your vcr is on when doing that)

now when you get your vcr displayed on the tv , turn on your dvd player and set your vcr to what ever channel you got the dvd player connected to(e.g INPUT 1 etc)

you dvd player should now be visable on your tv

simply insert a blank vcr tape and play your dvd and hit record on your vcr
