If the new thermostat sensor is secure and where it belongs, it has the wrong charge in the system. That cooler takes a critical charge. The factory charge is in ounces if refrigerant. The system needs to be evacuated completely with a vacuum pump and recharged with an accurate scale that weighs in ounces. That will solve your problem. A refrigeration tech carries the necessary tools that an hvac tech doesn't. Hope this helps and good luck.

SOURCE: thermostat wont shut off unit

These units are bad about that. you have to mount the cap sensor in the small tube that runs thourgh the evaporator for proper operation. laying on top of the coil does not let the thermostat sense properly.

its one of three fults,,,
it could be the thermostat playing up,,,fit a new one
it could be it needs a re-gas,,so re-gas it
or the compresor could be playing up,,
if the compresor is at fult it needs a new compresor and a re-gas to fix the problem,,,
the compresor is a pricy part to replace,,
how old is it??? would it be cheaper to just buy a new unit insted of patching up the old one? as its only likely to brake down again at a later date!!!
so it could be cheaper to buy new in the long run
