Frigidaire gallery otr microwave vent not working

Hello Lori Wilson - Thanks for your post! Generally speaking, the vent is not very strong. Try to place a single paper towel on the underside of the microwave. With the vent on, it should suction the paper towel to the bottom of the microwave. If not, I personally recommend contacting the installer to verify that the vent fan is installed properly and the exhaust outer is correct.

For the Jenn-Air Model JMV8208AA The microwave was dealer installed and is room vented. The vent does not pull vapors from the cook top of the oven. Regardless of the venting level used, the pull...

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

Well first of all I would take a piece of paper or newspaper, and put it up by the vents, the paper should be sucked on by the vent.. If it does that you have suction. if it does not hold the paper, you should get a warranty repair, i am assuming this new.

If the unit is install to far above the stove you may have a issue.

But long story short, the room vented units, do not really pull much smoke, they pull better on outside venting. you are just putting smoke/steam back into the room, just a little cleaner.

I tried to help you. Please help me and Rate/Vote on my response. We take the time to answer your question. take the time to rate us.Thanks and good luck

Microwave has no vent suction

check the filter(s) under the microwave. The normally fill with cooking grease and clog producing less suction. Remove the vent filter(s) and turn on microwave and you'll see a drastic difference. The are replaceable at any home center like Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and are very inexpensive. I hope this helps and good luck!

Venting

I would suggest that you check the manual to be sure it;s set up right.

Then you need to check any filters that are in place.

You should also check behind the grille for any obstructions or dust, etc.

1. Unplug it from the outlet.
2. Remove any screws and unlatch any tabs in the vent grille.
3. Pull up and/or out to remove the grille.

Whirlpool customer service is here and you can also enter your model number on that page to download your owner's manual, installation instructions, etc..

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
