The screen may become dark if Picture mode is set to Cinema or Custom. If the screen continues to remain dark after changing the picture quality mode, go to the Backlight, Picture, Brightness menu and adjust the brightness to your liking. When Power Saving is fixed to Low or High, the screen becomes dark. Some TVs have a Light Sensor so the picture will just become brighter or darker depending on the lighting in the room.
You can also try programming from a different source, like a DVD player or VCR to check whether the problem is caused by the device that sends the signal to the TV.
When was the lamp this model uses for brightness last replaced? These as a rule have a 2,000 hour or 2 year average lifespan and many just before they fail will go darker, picture will come up slower and be a bit dim.
Most LCD and PLASMA sets use two boards (some combine them into one board) that drive the Display Panel (the entire front screen unit) so I would suspect one of yours is bad.
The other unpleasant possible cause is where the left board is connected to the Display Panel (entire front screen unit) you have a problem inside that Display Panel and that is fatal as there is no way to get INSIDE the panel---it can cause both lines and a dark picture on one side of the screen.
How long u have this RCA analoge tv?Around 10 years or more and used it like about 5 or 6 hrs everydays?Yes,than ur tv it is losing CRT tube radiation cohetion. As times go bye years in years out the tv CRT-(tv tube) radiation will slowly dying out,Tv actual pictures will lost some of it luster and it brightnesses to the tv auctual pictures.Brightnesses of CRT tube will get darker and darker until the tv actual pictures barely it is watchable anymore.Contrast,Brightness and Colors adjusting more will help some. But u have to take this tv aparts and take a Flat scerw driver turn up a little bit more of the tv HV-(high voltage) SCREEN button on the FBT-(flyback transformer) to make any big differences of the CRT tube brightnesses. The FBT-(flyback tranformer) is the big block of plastic with a red wire with a black cap hook up to the tv CRT-(tv tube). This adjustment on of the FBT,HV-SCREEN button will help the tv CRT-(tv tube) last another year or two.
If your settings on the camera were set to daylight and it was really bright, the camera would have put a filter on the pic so there is not just a bright blur on the pic. If settings on camera are okay, then just use some photo editing software to lighten the pic. It could also be your setting on your computer. Or the settings in the movie maker. When I've used the Movie Maker I noticed the visuals were a little dark as if the contrast was off, but after viewing it the screens were fine. It may be due to the Movie Maker software compressing the pictures and they look darker. Anyway, it's in the settings either on the camera or on the computer. But it could also be a problem with the camera shutter or lens.
Your TV has internal problem @ video stage on the circuit
But you may try to apply resoldering on the circuit board near flyback and CRT circuit board.
I have a tv with the same problem. I gained access to the service menu (using the remote) and was able to increase the brightness available from my regular remote menu. It may kill my tv quicker but it looks great now. To find out how to access the menu I did a search for 'jvc service menu' and found out what buttons to push. There are many warnings out there about the possibilities of ruining was was ok to start with, but I used particular care(pen and paper) to record the original brightness setting for my tv. best of luck and merry christmas
try to open your tv and you can find the flyback ,in flyback you can see the screen and focus to adjust.use and try to rotate the screen,it control the brightness of your unit
