I have my HBS-700 paired and connected to my Dell laptop yet when I play any video or audio the sound still plays through the speakers and not the headset. Also, the laptop is docked and has external speakers connected to the dock. I have tried multiple times disconnecting and connecting, rebooting, and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?
Most computers will only pair this earpiece as a headset for voice calls. You need to make sure the headset is paired with your device as both a phone headset and media headset. Check your settings on your computer or smartphone to make sure it is paired properly to play media sound.

I have the LG HBM 730 headset also. Have the same problem with the LG VX 8700 phone. I got a replacement headset and the problem remains. I was told to delete and re pair the connection. I did so to no avail. I was told to pair at 10 -15 feet. I did so to no avail. I just went out and bought a $15. wired headset out of simple frustration. I also believe it is a buggy set.

Turn the unit OFF, then press and hold the power/call button for about 5 seconds, until you hear two short beeps and the blue light stays on. Browse for the device and when asked for the PIN, enter four zeroes (0000).

I have the same problem with my HBS-250. It was working fine on my iPod Touch. It worked the first couple of weeks on my iPhone 4 then stopped playing music. Phone funtion works. No music or podcasts or streaming from the web

Is there a setting in the sound control panel for headset?
Is this a new pairing that doesn't work or one that worked then manifested this problem?
In the Sound Panel on the Playback Tab it does show an Icon of a headset with the label Bluetooth Hands-free Audio but the Controller Information shows Broadcom. When I turn the headset on this Icon swirches to Ready. When I click on the Properties button and then the Advanced tab and click the test button I her the sound in the headset. But when I play a video/audio it still play through the speakers.The pairing worked fine before today both undocked and docked. Earlier today I had the laptop undocked and the headset connected and worked just fine. Later in the day I placed the laptop back in the docking station and connected the headset and while it shows connected the sound will only play through the external speakers. Thanks for the help.
Marcas, I solved my problem by going to the Sound Panel of my Dell laptop and in the Playback tab I clicked on the hands free icon (LG HBS700) and I then clicked on the Set Default tab. The sound started coming through my hands free and when I disconnected the hands free the sound automatically came through the Dell laptop speakers.
