Car radios have security codes to prevent them from being stolen. If they lose power, such as when replacing the battery, they lock out. This makes them worthless to anyone trying to steal them. You need to have the unlock code to reactivate the radio. It is provided with the vehicle at purchase, or by the retailer when selling replacements
GM's batteries are worthless try an auto parts store most will do diagnostics for free i would say your alternator is intermittent they can load test it to find out
check your battery cables to the battery first make sure they are tight as can be, DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN BATTERY CONNECTIONS, YOU MAY STRIP THE BATTERY OUT.
Second, have your battery tested, it may be weak, or worthless, replace if you have to.
Your starter would be your last culprit, remove it and have it also tested, obviously replace only if you have to, but always make sure you connections are tight

Try rechargeable batteries if your are using AAA. Some cameras just stop working with the AA one-use batteries. If you have a lithium or other specialty battery, try getting another battery. Your battery may need to be replaced.
We had the same problem dropping the camera, and ordered a pair of new battery covers. I was able to install this by carefully removing the cover screws and slipping the pins into their slots. I am sure you probably got it by now.
This problem was before the one posted about start and then die. The "expert" response posted was worthless. This whole website seems to be a collection of anecdotal semi-worthless stuff.
