Check whether the feed dogs are raised and moving forward and back.

when you get to the end of the stitch just reverse the sewing direction for about 1/2" then forward off the edge of the material

Use the reverse button. That's what it is for. Sew forward and then push the button and sew in reverse.

May be an issue with the feed dogs, or possibly a burr on the hook. Lay a peice of scrap material under the foot as if you were going to sew, remove needle, then run machine in reverse to see if it feeds material backwards as it should

I am having the same problem. Initially it did sew forward, but now only sews in reverse. The large grey lever on the right front of the machine should make it sew in reverse only as long as it is held down, but mine sews in reverse only. Hmmmm....think there are many people with this problem.

if your reverse is a lever then pull the lever down to normal sewing

if it's a button, try pushing it several times & try to see if that will help it unstick

if it doesn't use some wd-40 on it & see if that will work,,& keep working the button

See that button/knob at the lower right hand-side of the front? The center is a button you depress and hold to reverse. Good luck!

Make sure the presser foot is coming all the way down. Check your stitch length setting too.
