No hdmi signal on tv

When you convert from HDMI to DVI you only convert the video signal so you wont get any sound. To get the sound you will need a device that extracts the sound from the HDMI signal. These are readily available. However as you need the Chromecast to plug into the DVI converter and the sound extractor, you will also need an HDMI device that converts a single HDMI input the two HDMI outputs, or a sound extracting device that has an HDMI pass through. Ether way this is going to be a bit expensive compared to the original cost of the Chromecast. It might just be cheaper to buy a TV that has an HMDI input.

I recently experienced this issue with a ChromeCast and my TV set. The TV refused to "see" the ChromeCast so...

What I did was to turn the device on turn the TV on and set it to the HDMI port ........THEN plugged it firmly into the HDMI port and it was recognised.

It is something to do with the TV's ability to recognise the Sync signal from the device, it seems like it needs a kick up the britches to get it to work with some things.

You can either use a gaming console (PS3/PS4, Xbox 360/Xbox one. OR pick up a Chromecast. It's a device that plugs directly into an HDMI port on the TV and uses your WiFi to connect.

Have you considered using a Google "ChromeCast" device -- it connects to a HDMI-input on your TV, and software on your PC wirelessly transmits the video signals from your computer to your wireless router to the wireless-receiver inside the ChromeCast ?

Hi, this could be a power issue, are you using a USB port on the TV to power the Chromecast?

Some older USB ports might not have enough power capacity in which case you should use the small power adaptor that came with your Chromecast and power it from a wall socket.
