My carrier A/C turns off by itself but the light blinks

I would turn on my air conditioner, it runs for a few minutes but it turn off by itself and a green light keeps on blinking. I tried turning it back on but nothing happened except for the green light blinking. What could be the problem? By the way, my ac is carrier.

Switch OFF the circuit breaker of ac, after 5 seconds. Switched ON the circuit breaker. If this will appear again try to check the wiring connection of ac.

If the system has a condensation drain pump, there would be an interlock to keep the compressor or system off if the drain pump is full of water. A float switch, two wire circuit, jump them together and see if it runs then. The system may have a gravity drain and no pump, if so, this comment does not apply.

Air conditioner turns on then shuts itself off immediately

There's something wrong with your aircon. Usually the lights will start to blink. Depending on the brand and model, the number of times it blinks will give you an error code which tells you what's spoilt. You may like to check this out http://www.astiquer.com/blinking.html
