Charge light on scala q3 does not go off when charging

When charging the red charging light would not go off. Was still red after 24 hours. Did hook up with a Senna unit on that days ride. I figure that is just coincidental but who knows.

I am more familiar with the G4 and G9 models but usually when the charging light will not go out the battery is beginning to fail. I believe I read that these models contain the same battery as the original classic Ipod. They can be found on ebay or Amazon. I have batteries for the G4 and G9 models. I can be reached at Chris at RoamingDZ dot com. or 478-227-9445

SOURCE: My scala rider battery won't hold a charge in

Guys, if you roll out a device that can detect the battery if you own a soldering iron it can be easily replaced by a similar or even greater capacity.

Battery red light staying on after 24 hours charge Manual states red light should go off when fully charged

Either the charger is not working, the battery will no longer take a full charge, or the detection of a full charge is not working. If the trimmer works as long as it used to after charging 24 hours I would not worry about it. If not, then try to find another charger that has the same volt AND amperage rating and the same end (may be difficult) and see if the red light goes off. If still no good then you need a new battery. MAY be possible to have someone who sells the unit test the battery or you can test the charger to see if it is supplying the correct output. Checking with the dealer or manufacturer is always an option to consider.

How long for initial charge?

usually for the first charge, most electronics require a 24 hour charge. Unless they come fully charged and ready to use. Check your manual.

Could be.Those batteries leak charge even when not in use.I would let it go for 24-48 hours just to be sure.Unless the batteries or charger becomes very hot.

Lights on Rechargable Lantern.. Swissgear SG66301

I don't know how to solve your problem but, the three lights mean this:
Red LED light indicates the battery is being charged
Green LED light indicates that the battery is fully charged
Amber LED light incidates that the battery power level is low - the battery needs recharge.
Do not recharge you battery over 24 hours.

Gps dosen't hold a charge. ac power charge, or mobil charge

Ahh, the notorious battery problem. I had (2) units that would not charge or turn on (red light just kept flashing). I opened the unit and disconnected the battery on (1) and completely removed the leaking battery on the other since I could not find replacements batteries. The units work fine now when plugged in (AC or DC adapter of course !). Still looking for a replacement battery...

Not sure if this will help... however an altmeter will allow you to test along your electrics for any faults. You can check at the lights for example and throught the system.
