It sounds like a compressor problem, the click is usually the start relay trying to start the compressor.

Whirlpool refer is 3 weeks old and just stopped working. Like it was not plugged in, everything is off. I check the breaker, it was not tripped but I reset it anyway. Still dead. What do I do>

next time send the full model number,if it's under 1 year it's still under warranty so call whoever you bought it from or call the 800 number off of the model number tag on the machine, one thing you can try,run an extension cord to the fridge and plug it into another power source and see if it runs or plug a light into the socket you have the fridge plugged into to make sure it's not the plug,if you have gfi's in the kitchen one of them could be tripped, seen this before, fridge shouldn't be connected to gfi but find them like this,if you open the door and no lights or nothing is on you have no power,if the socket is good, remove the back panel and check the power cord,i found a guys fridge would power down just the lights on the board on the door that controls the machine, thought i was the board because the lights inside were on,it was the power cord, went in the back and moved the cord and board would light up,very strange, loose connection on the cord.if these things check good call the factory,if you mess with it you could void the warranty.good luck.

Power button is not working travelmate270

Give us more details? What do you mean Not Working? Are you saying that when you press the Power Button, nothing whatsoever happens?

When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous.

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugsinto the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside thejack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have totake the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto themotherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.

MODEL LT2016U WONT BOOT UP

Is it trying to boot up or is it doing absolutely nothing when you plug in the power cord and hit the power button?

Power light comes on but nothing happens

What type of laptop? What operating system?

Laptops don't boot for the following reasons: 1) Bad Power Cord. 2) Bad DC Power Jack where the power cord plugs into the laptop. 3) Static Charge Buildup. 4) Bad Motherboard.

The above 4 reasons are when you press the power button and absolutely nothing happens. You hear no fans running, no disk drive running, no one time clicking sound on the CD Drive and No light for a second or two when the CD drives click. In the case of a motherboard issue sometimes you will hear beep sounds or see blinking lights. Those beep sounds and blinking lights tells the technician what is going on with your motherboard and why it will not boot. If you see the blinking lights or hear beeps count them.

So you have a power light which means your power cord and dc power jack is good. So lets see if you have a static charge buildup.

Remove the Power Cord and the Battery from the laptop, then Press and Hold the Power Button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds put the power cord back into the laptop, but leave the battery out. Press the power button to see if it boots. If it does you had a Static Charge Buildup and it's ok to put your battery back in. If it does not you more than likely have an issue with your motherboard.

Toshiba satellitep205d-s7438 won't boot up

You need to be more specific and tell what happens when you plug in the power cord and press the power button. There are a number of reason why a computer will not boot, but if you tell what's going on someone can help you.

Computers don't boot for basically the following reasons, 1) the power supply is bad. That means when you plug it in you don't see any lights, and when you press the power button nothing happens, you hear no fans, no beeps, no blinking lights, no hard drive spinning, no cd drive clicking and nothing appears on the lcd screen.

2) A motherboard issue, usually when this happens you will either see blinking lights or hear beeps. Those blinking lights and beeps are codes that tell the technician what is really going on.

3) Static Buildup - try removing the battery and the power cord then Press and Hold the Power Button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds put the power cord back in (leave the battery out) and Press the Power Button. If it boots up you had static buildup and can replace the battery, count your blessings and Thank The Lord cuz a dishonest repairman would have told you he had to replace the motherboard for $300

Fridge and freezer not cooling. The fan is running

Is the compressor clicking? If so, the pressure may be too high. tHis happens if the temperature control is lowered too soon after the compressor cuts off, or if house power fails for a shorrt period, etc.

1. UNPLUG the power cord.
2. Set the temperature dial to the settings you want.
3. Close doors and wait a full 10 minutes (more if you don't get impatient).
4. After 10 full minutes, plug power cord back in. It should start now.
5. Try not to open fridge for an hour or so, or until you hear tyhe compressor cycle off.

Hope this hellps!
