Depending on what Onan 30KW you have it maybe possible. If it was intended for residential use than no, it does not have the right alternator insulation class, or PMG style alternator. Also what size welder amps? Is it 1 phase or 3 phase. Let me know Onan model and I can advise better
it shouldn't use that much a stuck ring will cause this to happen is there a lot of hours on the unit?and its from wear?if its not used that often keep checking the oil and move the crank case line to drain into a container
Is your generator 4 kW or 4000 Model 5500.
If 5500 as on the picture over your question the reason may be short in the receptacles or low voltage/ rpm. If 4 kW MicroQuiet, there the reasons may be too much, that you will nead a troubleshooting manual.
