SOURCE: 2001 S Type Jaguar ABS and Traction Control fault lights on

Hi First I suggest that you get a diagonostic check on ABS system. and then a visual inspection of the brakes. Warped brake rotors do not make noice, but the steering will start to judder when brakes applied at around speeds from 40 up . Possible cause that the vehile picked up something from road such as nylon/ plastic/stone Mike

SOURCE: Traction Warning Light & ABS light on.

one of your wheel sensors are bad. if you go to napa they will let you use a code reader for free and that will tell you which wheel it is and you can replace that sensor. they are kinda expensive @ around 100 bucks a piece.

SOURCE: XK8 ABS FAULT LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITANTLY PLUS

Number of possibilities. Most likely culprit is wheel bearings. Have these checked. Big heavy car and wheel bearings do take a hammering on XK and XJ's. Once they go, the wheel speed sensors are out of line with the tracking ring and a fault code is thrown. As the TCS uses the same sensor, this also throws a fault. Next in line is the ABS unit (it's hardly ever the main block, but ECU itself, companies on the net offer rebuilt units. Finally it can be the ABS pump unit - but the fault codes will show if this is the case - or you can pull the pump unit plug out of the ABS unit and see if it has continuity with a multimeter - should be a low number of ohms. 8 times out of 10, it is wheel bearing.

My ABS and TRAC light came on at the same time

Are you asking why both lights come on at the same time to indicate that those functions are not operational? That is because traction control uses the ABS sensors to operate. If one (or more) of the sensors are bad/not reporting properly, it shuts off both ABS and Traction Control. If you went over a bump or other irregular surface, that could confuse the system and set a fault that could be reset when you restart the car. If it is a more permanent failure where the warning lights stay on after the car is restarted, someone will need to perform a diagnostic procedure to find the fault.

ABS light came on, and it says trac off

i would hook up a code tester to find out exactly what codes it picked up and why, and then repair them accordingly. also the abs light is telling you that it has recognized a problem somewhere in the system, and it most likely has interferred with the traction system. if you don't have a code tester, and if the car is safe to drive, go to your closest auto part store and let them hook up a code tester light and see what the problem is.
