3 blinks of Standby/power LED of Sony sets denotes a SMPS board [G-board] failure. . Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. Call Sony for a part number and price---I have not seen a manual power switch fail on any of these AND even if it was bad the remote should still work

The 5 blinks is indicating the lamp ballast needs replacement your model uses the Sony lamp Ballast 147401211 for sony models KDF42E2000, KDS-50A2000, KDS-50A2010, KDS-55A200, KDS-60A2000, KDS-60A2010, & KDS-60XBR2 amd LDS-R60XBR2

Unhook the fan and see if the set works, it will work without the fan for testing purposes, chances are the fan is drawing to much current and is being shut down by the TV circuitry

• Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen A2 slightly.

Red led blinks 4 times is an error code that shows that fan is not running in tv, check fans connections and make sure all are plugged properly.

I have a Sony KDS-50A2000 50 in. HDTV Television. I just replace the lamp because I got the message that appeared on the TV. Lamp needs to be repaced. I replace with a Sony lamp and now TV cut off after 2 to 3 hours off watching the TV. Any Idea what is going on with this TV

it is a bad fan. it also could be a power supply. Quite often the real problem is dirt clogging up the fan(s) to the point that they need to be replaced. Operation of the set in a dirty environment is not a good idea
