If possible test with another charger like a car charger if you have one
also try removing the battery plug in the charger and put the battery back in (don't touch the contacts/gold pins)


if it works with other chargers then the charger is bad


if it doesn't work with other chargers charging port/battery/phone is bad

You really only have two choisces here, the battery is defective or the phone is. The more common issue would be the battery.

My Motorola Blur would not charge kept saying Connect Charger. I tried various power connecters including the Original one that came with the phone and the USB to no avail. This morning I took the phone apart and clean it and still would not recognize the charger.

Fix: I lifted up the connector where the charger plugs into on the actual phone and now it is making contact and appears to now be charging my phone.

try it with the charger (plug it in) and if that doesn't work your phone is probbbably broken. I would recommend getting a new phone if you can't get it to work

I had the same problem. I plugged a USB charger into the headset and turned the power switch off. It worked as normal after that. I think it does not like to be "on" when the USB is disconnected. Anyway it seems the plugging/unplugging kick-started it.

when you plug in the charger cable to your phone, make sure that you allow it to charge at least 2 hours, if your phone shuts off immediately after this amount of time, you likely need a new battery, they will wear out after a certain number of recharge cycles.. contact your motorola distributer or motorola website to purchase a replacement. Remember it is normal for the battery to be warm to touch while charging or the phone itself is in use. but if it gets hot to the touch this is not normal, and the battery needs replaced..
