SOURCE: Lenovo 3000 N200 battery not charging.

I just had the same problem. My battery had discharged to less than zero and would not start even though the power plug was in. I tried everything... but what fixed it for me was to remove the power plug, remove the battery, plug in the power cord and start the machine. Once the machine was already booted, I put the battery in and it started charging. Dont know if that will fix your problem, but it fixed mine.

SOURCE: lenovo g530 4151 - restore bios from USB or CD ?

Hi, What I would best sugget you if you this kind of issue is to restore your system to its original settings, just look for the small button just beside the power button on your keyboard, it has an arching arrow logo, that key is what we called One Key Recovery that would restore your system to its original factory settings. but just a hint it would also delete everything on your computer so consider bucking up every important files taht you have before proceeding with the recovery. also make sure that the ac adapter is plugin before you press the one key recovery button then it will give the options to choose from, just choose one key recovey then proceed with the factory default recovery, thats it it would now proceed with the system factory default restoration. If you still need some clarifications regarding this issue you could also call the tech support hotline of lenovo

SOURCE: how to remove bios password in lenovo 3000 y510

This information is intended for experienced users. It is not intended for basic users, hackers, or computer thieves. Please do not try any of following procedures if you are not familiar with computer hardware. I'll not be responsible for the use or misuse of this information, including personal injury, loss of data or hardware damage. So use it at your own risk.

A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:

In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.

Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.

When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.

Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.

B. By Using Software:

I have found that BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is a program that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten BIOS/CMOS password. Simply boot your PC to DOS and execute the program, and get access to forgotten BIOS/CMOS passwords in just seconds

SOURCE: i forgot my bios supervisor

Hi,
Are you the one who set up the BIOS password? If not, unfortunately, there's no way for us to retrieved the password. The only way you can reset the password to default settings is to reseat the CMOS battery on the motherboard, its a circular thing that looks like a battery of a watch, sometimes a pin hold it, just detached it then wait for at least 30 minutes then connect it back again,
Note: Before you reseat the CMOS battery, make sure that everything is unplugged on the computer, like AC adapter, battery and all external devices...

Hope this will help...Your response is very much appreciated...

Medion Akoya mini 10 netbook 1210 asks for password to enter bios. I want to reset but never known the present password

The most common way that most of us know on how to reset or clear the BIOS password is to physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting the power plug and then removing a battery for 30 minutes from the motherboard. Another way is to reset the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself. Both of the 2 methods mentioned works because most motherboards use a battery to sustain the BIOS/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip. So by cutting off the battery power, the BIOS/CMOS settings will be erased or

Lenovo n500 forgot bios password

Hello, If you forgot your BIOS password,do not worry, you can reset your system back without requesting a BIOS password,Simply unscrew your laptop and get the motherboard of your laptop, locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard and remove for sometime for the battery to discharge say 4-10minutes,or better still if you can locate the jumpers for the BIOS and reset it,the BIOS password will be removed. It is the battery that keeps the BIOS chip alive by suppling it power,if power is not supplied to this chip, then the information on it will be lost. So, remove the battery for some minutes or reset your BIOS jumper on the motherboard WISH YOU THE BEST.

How to clear supervisor password in bios in 945 gccr

If you remember the password, simply enter into the bios/cmos setup, go to the section to change the password, and leave the new password fields blank. I haven't looked at the manual for this specific MB, but that is the standard way to clear any passwords stored in bios. Hope that helps! Let me know!

Lenovo Notebook Problem

Sorry, there isn't a way to get past the password other than to contact Lenovo. Resetting the CMOS will do nothing. They will ask for proof of ownership before they do anything. I believe they have a "backdoor" password.
