To re-enable the Console access requires the SW2900 series to be reset to its default settings via the WEB INTERFACE

Symptom:
SW2900 Baseline Switch - Default console access disabled following password change
From the web interface, the default user "admin" password is changed and console access is disabled
Cause:
When applying the new password, by default the service-type is set to "telnet". When applied, the default "terminal" setting is removed thus disabling console access.

Push a pin into the reset hole at the back of the router for about 10 seconds.
Now the default username is (admin) and the default password is (admin).
If that wont work then leave the password field blank, and only enter (admin) as the username. Remember no brackets.

Turn the computer on Hold Command + S Wait till it enters what is called Single User Mode Type: mount -uw / hit enter Type: launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDameons/com.apple.DirectoryServices.plist hit enter Type: dscl . -delete /Users/"yourusername" AuthenticationAuthority hit enter Type: passwd "yourusername" hit enter Type a new password Then retype password. type: exit then reboot
If you don't know your username before you type the dscl command type: ls /Users and find your account and use that name for the user name.

Step 3:
NOTE: The User Name is "admin". Cannot be changed.

At the Old Password text box, enter the router's old password. Default is "admin".

Step 4:
Enter a New Password for the Router. Your password must have 20 or fewer characters and cannot contain any spaces.

Step 5:
At the Confirm New Password text box, re-enter the new password to confirm it.

Step 6:
Click Save Settings to save the changes, or click Cancel Changes to get back to the default settings.

Only administrators are empowered to install new SW in Windows. That is why the SW if asking for admin rights with you.

do you keep the password of ur adninistrator account, which type of account u r unable to login? if u have keep the admin password its little difficult if not enter the admin account then click start an run, type cmd then dos will appeat, type net user <username> * it will prompt you to enter new password enter the password, now the password is reset to a new password

When the Command Prompt window pops up, type in "net user" to identify the account name of the local administrator.
Once you have identified the admin account, type in
net user "admin account name" * and press Enter. do this exactly right including spaces and replace admin account name with the name of the admin account
When prompted, enter a new password for the admin account and hit Enter. You will not see the characters being typed.
Confirm your password by entering it again and hit Enter.
Type in "exit".
logoff and try the given password

If you are still able to use command prompt, try the following:

a) Start, Run, type "cmd", Enter
b) type "net user user_name new_password

- user_name : will represent your admin user account name

- new_password : will represent your new password for the account

c) press enter
d) Restart the computer and login using new password
